The Oyster Shack: The perfect retro beach house

A cosy renovated 1940's ANZAC home with a large deck, backyard and original 50s kitchen with modern amenities. Situated on a quiet street in the heart of the Koala habitat, you are bound to see some of these on your trip. Kangaroos frequently visit, and if you are lucky, you may see Sugar Gliders. Only a short walk to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. Perfect for a relaxing holiday, fishing and enjoying the unique beauty of Amity. The space An original 1940's beach shack that has been recently renovated. Situated in a quiet street in the heart of Amity. The front of the house has a cosy bedroom with a double bed. Next to this, is an entrance area with a 3-seater sofa (which folds out to a King Single bed) and a small desk, so it can be used as another bedroom or workspace. The open-plan kitchen/lounge is extremely unique, with 50s-style decor yet all the modern amenities, including a 900 mm electric oven, cute retro Smeg appliances and a Miele dishwasher. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking including pantry basics. The lounge has a TV, games cabinet and Koala sofa that folds into a Queen bed. There is a simple but tidy main bathroom which comes off the kitchen/lounge area. There is a set of French doors which open out from the kitchen onto a small deck area. This area has a chest freezer, and drinks fridge conveniently located close to the kitchen doors. Off to the side of this is a separate laundry room which contains a second toilet. This then opens out onto a large deck furnished with outdoor dining and lounge settings, including a day bed. Two queen bedrooms come off the large deck, each with air conditioning units and fans. The house is professionally cleaned before each stay. Beds are made with fresh linen and towels are provided. Bathroom basics are all included. The large backyard has a big lawn area plus a clothesline, shed and fish-cleaning bench. There is off-street parking plus plenty of parking on the verge. Guest access Smartlock access details will be sent to you before your arrival to ensure a smooth and easy check-in. Other things to note On the northwestern shores of North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) with breathtaking views across Moreton Bay, Amity Point has a quiet, laid-back fishing village charm. It’s a popular holiday spot for those who love being outdoors, especially by the water. Popular with families, boaties and anglers, couples looking for a romantic escape or seniors who enjoy the peace and quiet, Amity Point is the perfect place to relax, unwind, wet a line or watch the sun set over the mainland. Amity’s most popular landmark is its jetty, a favoured spot to watch the sunset and dolphins at play. The protected bay waters make the swimming enclosure a safe place for the kids to splash about or swim. The rock wall on either side of the jetty is teeming with marine life and a vast array of fish species makes snorkelling a memorable experience. At sunset, you can sit on the spit and watch the stunning sunset, enjoying spectacular views of Peel, Green and Moreton Islands. It is the smallest of the three residential communities on 'Straddie'.
