*READ ALL BEFORE BOOKING* Cozy up to the fire while taking in mountain views after a day of exploring the Park and Caverns. Minutes from wineries, breweries, the Shenandoah River, ski & golf resorts, Lake Arrowhead, and Skyline drive, the Campy Camper rests at Knobbyshire Farm, a 23-acre permaculture farm with rolling pastures, dense woods, and a babbling creek. Surrounded by the charming town of Stanley, VA, the Farm feels rural, yet is a stone's throw from local restaurants and provisions. **Please read entire listing before booking** The Campy Camper is a 18 foot travel trailer with one full sized bed, a convertible sofa, fridge and microwave. The campsite has its own fire pit, Adirondack chairs, picnic table, and hammock. There is no running water hooked up as of yet, so campers have their own designated bathroom in our barn home. Although the camper has three sleeping options, it is still a camper after all, so the beds are quite small. Ideally it can fit two adults and two children, but I wouldn’t recommend the space for four adults. Please note that the farm and its various structures are a work-in-progress. You may see and hear construction work and see the owners as well as other guests from other farm stay listings around the farm. We, as well as our neighbors have farm animals who may crow, bleat, or moo in the early morning hours. Please also note that to access the camper you will need to walk down a hill from our driveway about 100 feet. Hiking shoes are recommended. You will also need a sturdy vehicle to drive about 400 feet down from the main road to our driveway. Guests have access to the camper, the glamping bathroom, and can roam and hike across our 23 acre property. Please don’t cross into the neighbor’s property (marked with wire fencing.) Note that you will be sharing the 23 acres with other guests who are staying on other parts of the land. I will be reachable by phone or text at any time, and am usually working on the property weekly, but may not be available at all times. Stanley is a small town minutes from Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Lake Arrowhead, Massanutten Resort, wineries, breweries, and public boat slips into the Shenandoah River. Feeling adventurous? Enjoy canoeing, tubing, horseback riding, zip lining, hiking, shooting, traversing ropes courses, and corn mazes, all within minutes. If you're feeling more leisurely, enjoy strolling through museums, antique shops, art galleries, wineries, and even a small rescue zoo. At Knobbyshire Farm, feel the wonders of a mountain getaway while also being walking distance from a supermarket and pizza shop. From US highway 340, Knobbyshire Farm is just a few hundred feet down an old bumpy road, and requires a sturdy vehicle. During snowy or icy weather, an all wheel drive vehicle is required. Please be aware of this before booking during winter months. Parking is free in our large gravel driveway. Charcoal and firewood bundles are available at the Food Lion right on 340. When using the fire pit, please use the screen as wind will catch the embers and send them flying. Please douse the fire completely before going to bed. At night, you are free to unplug the string lights that hang around the camper for added darkness, but please plug them back in before leaving. (The plug is right next to the door of the camper.) During hunting season, you will hear gunfire from the shooting range near 340. The sound can be quite startling, but the range is pointed away from our property is safe for us and our guests. Please don't cut wood from our standing trees for firewood.
