More than a cottage, we offer you a real experience in the Sidobre! Isolated at the end of the hamlet, relax in this beautiful cottage on the edge of the Sidobre forest, which has a mystical appearance with its various tree species and large, extravagant granite rocks. In the evening, it is a beautiful sky that opens up above you, and the melodies of the forest that gently surround the cottage. The space Small nest for two, accessed via the terrace after a few steps up a small staircase. It has a table and chairs, a comfortable sofa, sun loungers, and a small barbecue. On the ground floor of the cottage, there is the living room with a fully equipped kitchen area. A small living room has a sofa and a coffee table. The floor is furnished under the roofs, with the cozy bedroom and the beautiful shower room. Warm and cozy, wood is present everywhere. The stairs to the upstairs are Japanese-style, so they are not suitable for people with reduced mobility. In the evening, a magnificent sky opens above you, the stars are within reach, and the melodies of the forest gently surround the cottage. Upon request, the cottage can be connected to the Mimosas cottage to accommodate up to 10 people! Guest access A parking space is reserved for you below the terrace. Please let us know if you are coming with several cars. At the end of a typical little hamlet in the heart of the Sidobre forest, the gîte is secluded and on the edge of the forest. We are located in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park between Castres and Brassac, at an altitude of 600 meters. Here, the small road ends and turns into a hiking trail that leads to the Menhir du Secun and the rocks of the Sidobre. They are between 45 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes away on foot through the forest from the cottages. We provide you with maps of these walks, with directions to help you move around the valleys easily. - Treat yourself to local and seasonal products on sale in our small shop area (honey, beer, syrups, jams, biscuits, flour, etc.) - Meet local businesses with our maps that list local restaurants, grocery stores, markets, producers, artisans, and artists, all within 30 minutes of your cottage. - Discover the biodiversity of the Sidobre with the exploration and discovery booklets for fauna and flora that we provide. If you listen carefully, you will hear the midwife toad, the buzzard, the deer, the tits, and the woodpecker. If you are patient, you might see the salamander, the newt, or the fox. If you look closely, you will see footprints, a deer nest, the damage caused by wild boar... - Discover wild cuisine with what can be found in the forest: chestnuts, porcini mushrooms, morels, navelwort, dandelions, etc. - Participate in local life, thanks to the calendar you will find at the reception with activities, events, and gatherings in the area. - Enjoy moments of rest, relaxation, and tranquility on the grass in the deckchairs in summer, under the shade of a tree. We provide you with books and comics, board games, tourist information, and more at the reception. For a weekend, a week, or a month, we welcome you all year round, even in winter, to this haven of peace in contact with nature and its wild animals. The 4 seasons each have their own surprises; the forest transforms—come and discover it! Other things to note We provide cleaning and cooking essentials (utensils, salt and pepper), a towel, a bath mat, a hand towel and toilet paper. Options (to be paid on site in cash): - bed sheets: €10/bed if not ironed, €15/bed if ironed - towel: €5/person - end of stay cleaning: €35 - Breakfast basket: €10/person/morning, customizable according to your preferences. We will deliver it directly to your cottage upon your arrival. Rates can be adjusted according to the age of the children. Bookable only for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (possible to book for one or more mornings). Confirmation required at least 2 days in advance. An additional charge is required for our pet friends. The connection: Here, between the trees and the terrain, the phone network is sometimes difficult to find, according to the operators. Nice, a little disconnection! If needed, we'll be able to let you know where phones capture the best. Wifi is present in the gite. In case of mist, rain or strong wind, it can become capricious.
