'Christmas Cottage' - A cosy hiding place, perfect for a romantic weekend away, writers retreat or just some well needed space to rest. Nestled here, in the heart of Somerset, seated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the historic, peaceful and quaint village of Nether Stowey. The Cottage is surrounded by stunning countryside walks, the beautiful 'Coleridge Way' and The National Trusts own 'Coleridge Cottage' in celebration of the English Poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The space Christmas Cottage is a little gem in the history of Nether Stowey, dating back to approximately 1850. Bursting with character and history, this cottage is a wonderful space to snuggle down in a beautiful part of the country, very popular with walkers. The cottage welcomes you with a beautiful and cosy lounge, complete with 32" smart tv, traditional games and books to feast the eyes on. Original art work and historical photographs grace the cottage. Leading off the lounge is a compact kitchen, pantry and utility cupboard all fully stocked with all the essentials, with gas hob, electric oven, grill and microwave. Follow the classic oak staircase and you will be greeted by the enchanting exposed rafters, a beautiful feature of the cottage. At the top of the stairs lies the newly installed bathroom with power shower, sink and lavatory. Leading on, you will meet the bedroom with kingsize wrought iron bed, fitted with wool duvet (perfect for those with allergies) and 100% linen bedding. There is an inset wardrobe, complete with hangers and linen robes, should you need use of them. There is an oak desk and occasional chair. From the bed you can enjoy views of the treasured Nether Stowey Bell Tower and The Old Gaol, which was in operation throughout the 1800's. The charming bell tower chimes on the hour and offers a nostalgic comfort to the village. Other things to note The Village has two grocery shops for all your essentials, plus a traditional butcher. There are two pubs within a moments walk, plus a library. The cottage is just a 5 minute drive from the delightful 'Quantock lakes' wedding venue, so those attending weddings.
