ROSEA Ranch: cozy, oceanfront, walk to beach
Located steps from premier sand beach Walk on Beach. Entering the gates, you'll be greeted by a tranquil, mature garden blocked from the wind, a deck, and a hot tub. Inside this solar powered 1970s modern vernacular contemporary home, you'll find a cozy raised living room positioned for maximum views. Bedrooms are on the ground floor, along with bathrooms, living, dining, fully-equipped kitchen, and laundry. A study is upstairs. Architect: Ted Urban Designed: 4/17/77 @roseyranch After arrival you are likely to see deer, rabbits, foxes, vultures, hawks, gophers, seals, whales, dolphins, crabs, starfish, raccoons, turkeys, and more! The Sea Ranch is a special place: beautiful, natural, quiet, welcome, and private. The community also prides itself in the dark skies for wonderful stargazing. Our home is located at the north end of The Sea Ranch, convenient to shops, services and grocery stores in Gualala. You'll have the full house and the garden. The garage is not available to guests. Please message us through the app for any questions, issues, or feedback. Prime location! This home is steps from Walk on Beach — one of the largest sand beaches in The Sea Ranch — and has direct access to the Bluff trail. Check out the satellite view in our photos. The seal observation area at Shell Beach is a 10 minute walk away, as is the playground and picnic area. Need groceries, take-out, or supplies? Gualala is 7 minutes away by car. You'll be directly in between two great recreation centers: Ohlson (outdoor heated pool, saunas, tennis, basketball, and volleyball) and Del Mar Rec Centers (outdoor heated pool, saunas, and tennis), and a 5 minute drive to The Sea Ranch Golf Links, one of the most highly regarded golf experiences in California and unique on the North Coast. The home is also across the the highway from The Sea Ranch Chapel. You'll want to drive, but be sure to bring bikes, rollerblades, etc. as there are plenty of empty roads and trails to explore (note: bikes not allowed on Bluff trail). The Sea Ranch is a quiet community, and many of our neighbors are full and part-time time residents. Please stay quite while outdoors, and only use the lights you need (to ensure everyone can enjoy the stars!). Please keep exterior lights off unless required and please park so that your car is not visible from the street. The home is largely off-grid: it's fully electric, and uses solar arrays paired with energy storage (batteries) to provide fully off-grid energy. Water is locally sourced from two 150-foot deep wells drilled 10.5 miles up the Gualala River South Fork, then pumped directly from the underground reservoir to the home by the Sea Ranch Water Company. WiFi is the only thing keeping you "connected."
