Located in the beautiful Western Catskills with views of rolling farmland in front and beautiful mountains behind, this home is the ideal place to escape your worries, take a breath and relax. The space This 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath farmhouse dates back to 1860 and you can feel the history the moment you step inside. Original hand-hewn beams have been exposed throughout the first floor which is comprised of an open kitchen/dining space, powder room and large living room that opens to an expansive back deck overlooking a flowing brook and the mountains behind. Upstairs, past the circular "portal" window, you'll find 3 bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom (complete with antique claw-foot tub) and a hall bathroom. The back yard slopes downward, past the fire pit and ends where the water begins. Roses brook, (the house and the road's namesake) flows through the property and is an oasis for cooling down in the summer or catching a native brook trout. The property abuts a walking trail along the brook that takes you to an old farming bridge where the water below pools and can get deep enough for a proper swim in the right conditions. Nearby things to note: - The 26-mile Catskill Scenic trail is mere steps away. Following along the Western branch of the Delaware River, it's the perfect place for hiking, bike riding, cross-country skiing and has multiple fishing access points. -Belleayre Mountain (35mins) and Plattekill (20mins) are nearby for the winter warriors. Plattekill Mountain, being one of the last family run ski areas in the nation, offers a one of a kind experience with great apres ski vibes and tubing for the kiddos! -Dining, etc: Fine dining can be found nearby at Brushland Eating House or Bovina Farm and Fermentory.
