Discover our nicely updated, cozy 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment, perfectly situated in Midtown—Harrisburg’s most vibrant area. Located in the beautifully restored “Carpets and Draperies” building, originally Gerber’s Department Store built in 1922, this apartment blends historic charm with modern touches. Walk to PA's State Capitol, local breweries, and more! Enjoy free off-street parking, a fully stocked kitchen, and in-unit laundry. Your ideal home base for exploring Hershey and Harrisburg! The apartment is your own spacious two bed apartment, which is separate from the other units in the building. One bedroom has it's own bathroom, and the other bathroom is shared, with access from the living room. Each bedroom has a queen bed. There's a cozy couch in the living room, but it does not pull out. You’ll get a key code for the front door keypad ahead of check-in. Note there are 3 entrances to this building: a door to apartment A, and a door to apartments B-E, both on the side of the building. The front entrance accesses “Raising the Bar” bakery only. This AirBnB unit is Apartment B. You will not be able to enter Apartments A, or C-E. You will of course get to visit the bakery when it’s open. I am generally available to help with questions, concerns, and local recommendations. I love Midtown Harrisburg, and bought this building to bring the historic structure back to life after decades vacant. This project is one part of Midtown’s resurgence. The unit is in the “Carpets and Draperies” building, which was built in 1922 as a department store. It sat vacant for decades, but was restored over the last couple years. The marquee “Carpets and Draperies” sign is original from 1922. The building is in the heart of Midtown, Harrisburg, along Third Street, which is the neighborhood’s commercial corridor with bars, restaurants, cafes, museums, etc. Across the street is a new charter academy, also housed in a historic old structure that’s been restored to its former glory. Midtown is very walkable. Within steps of the unit is the Susquehanna Art Museum, Millworks Gallery and Restaurant, ZeroDay Brewing and much more. If here on business, Downtown and the State Capitol are only a few blocks away. The new federal building is about 2 blocks behind the unit. Midtown is also a great jumping off point for other Central Pennsylvania attractions like those in Hershey and Lancaster. Parking is right at your door. Midtown is very walkable, but if you plan to visit the surrounding area, you’ll have easy access to your car.
