The Osage is a newly built guesthouse using reclaimed and repurposed materials whenever possible. The name ‘The Osage’ comes from an old osage orange tree we took down near the property in the hopes that one day we could use the wood. In January 2022 building on The Osage commenced, and the osage wood was used in the hardwood floors. In close proximity to local shops, restaurants, coffee shops and parks. Located less than 5 miles from downtown Louisville and less than 7 miles from the airport. The space Welcome to our newly constructed (2022) guesthouse! This standalone space offers 1 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and sizable living room with a pull-out couch. You will have an on-premise parking space. As hosts, we live full-time in the main residence located at the front of the property Guest access Guests have access to the entire guesthouse on the top floor. The first floor is a garage that we (the owners) use. Other things to note Welcome to Crescent Hill! This is a charming neighborhood with locally owned restaurants, shops, and other necessities- all within walking distance. 1. Grocery: There is a nearby Kroger (about a 5 min. drive) with an organic section and a wine/liquor store next door. Rainbow Blossom is a locally owned organic grocery store (also a short drive). 2. Wine/Liquor: The Wine Rack is a locally owned wine and liquor store in walking distance. They also offer a small selection of charcuterie fixings. 3. Books: Carmichael’s Bookstore has been in business in Louisville for 40 years and they offer a hand-picked selection of titles reflecting both the taste of the owners and that of the neighborhood. They are open seven days a week and every evening. 4. Recommended restaurants (in walking distance): Blue Dog Bakery and Café, is a great place for brunch, lunch, and late afternoon snacks. Beyond the pizzas, there are delicious salads, sandwiches, and their famous selection of European-style pastries, desserts, and fresh artisanal bread. Red Hog is Louisville’s first whole-animal butcher shop (and eatery, too!), owned and operated by Kit Garrett of Blue Dog Bakery and Café. The menu changes frequently and focuses on dishes utilizing their wood-burning oven and hearth grill. Con Huevos, a James Beard-nominated restaurant, serves up Mexican-style breakfast, brunch, and lunch. With multiple locations around Louisville, its home on Frankfort Avenue is the original location. Eggs Over Frankfort, a little breakfast and lunch café, serves up traditional breakfast offerings with a twist. Porcini, for decades this Italian spot has been the place in the area for family gatherings and special date nights. Parlour has craft pizza, live music, craft cocktails and beer in a laid-back atmosphere. Eatz Vietnamese Restaurant has Vietnamese favorites such as Pho, Banh Mi, Hu Tieu, Bun Thit Nuong, and more.
