Located 7 miles from Big Bend National Park and 12 miles from Big Bend Ranch State Park, Terlingua Escondido is your ideal spot for relaxing and adventuring! Sage yurt is a short drive or walk to restaurants, bars, and shopping in Terlingua Ghost Town, yet hidden from view. Gaze at stars, the moon, and drifting clouds through the dome skylight, and take in spectacular views of the Chisos Mountains, Chihuahuan Desert, the Milky Way, and dark night skies right outside your yurt. The space Sage yurt is outfitted with a king size bed with premium bedding and oversize bath towels; kitchenette with Keurig coffee maker, microwave, toaster, fridge with freezer, blender, glassware, and dinnerware; full bathroom with walk-in, custom-tiled rain shower; and mini-split air conditioning and heating. For your convenience, we welcome you with a snack basket, Zero water filtration pitcher, a selection of K-cups, tea bags, sugar, creamer, hotel amenities (soaps, lotion, shampoos), hair dryer, dish washing and cleaning supplies, lantern, and basic first aid kit. Please respect our house rules for the safety and enjoyment of all our guests! * Two-person maximum. No exceptions. The yurt is not suitable for infants or young children. * No dogs or pets of any kind are allowed. (Please refer to our house rules related to bringing pets to the national park.) * No wood or charcoal fires are permitted during a county-wide burn ban. You may enjoy the shared propane fire pits and star gazing chairs a short distance from the yurts. * No cooking (except for microwave) is allowed in or near the yurts. We provide a communal gas grill with a side burner, grilling utensils and a picnic table for cooking out. *NOTE* You will need to bring cooking oil, foil, pots, pans, or anything else you need to cook out. * Observe quiet hours between 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Keep noise levels to a minimum at all times. No parties or loud gatherings of any kind! * Help us preserve dark night skies: Turn off interior and porch lights you are not using, and turn off car headlights quickly. Guest access You'll enjoy the whole yurt all to yourself! Terlingua Escondido comprises two yurts and a loft: You may have neighbors in the yurt next door, or the Loft, a short distance away. Other things to note The Big Bend region has so much to do, see, and explore! We are long-time locals and love to share our knowledge and history of the region with our guests. Here are a few of our recommendations. Please message us for specific details to maximize your time in Big Bend based on your interests and abilities! • Boquillas, Mexico. If you have a passport, bring it with you to experience this unique border crossing. • Jeep rentals and tours. Several outfitters offer jeep rentals or guided jeep and ATV tours if you’d like to experience the back roads in the state and national parks. • Horseback and river tours. We are close to several outfitters who can provide an unforgettable experience on horseback or in a canyon of the Rio Grande. *** We pay the AirBNB service fee for you!
