Warm and inviting guest suite in an 1800's post-and-beam cottage situated on a 15 acre organic flower and vegetable farm and business. Four porch steps lead you to a private sitting porch and your suite, with unique and beautiful features like upholstered walls, stenciled floors, a light-filled greenhouse roofed bath and total privacy, all surrounded by extensive flower and veg gardens. Enjoy the serenity just 12 minutes from the town of Middlebury. This room is a downstairs suite in a guest house on my farm. It is a newly renovated space. The decor and surrounding gardens and countryside offer an extra charming , peaceful and cozy experience here. There is a convenience kitchen with a counter-top oven/toaster, mini fridges, kurig coffee makers, hot water kettle, dishes and flatware, nutribullet blender, and basic food prep needs in a bright, clean, large space, the kitchen is shared with the one other room on the property, guests rarely overlap. Outside, there are many gardens you can walk through and explore, and a vegetable garden that supplies our farm to table dinners. There is a patio situated next to a garden pond , many terraced gardens, our cut flower gardens and a beautiful stone outdoor fireplace for your enjoyment. Across the property is my private house. The entire property is set back and out of view of the well-maintained gravel road. There is a small seasonal brook that runs through a wooded valley close-by the yard that adds a nice babbling brook sound when there has been enough rain to keep it running. The yard and gardens are frequented by wild-life, birds abound here, sometimes deer, and I've had a great blue heron frequent the reflecting pond. guests may tour the gardens and property, but the space beyond the vegetable garden to my house and around my house is restricted for my own privacy. This is your vacation, I am as available as needed or hands-off as you want. You might see me working in the gardens, always feel free to say hi, never feel obligated to socialize. This suite is situated on my small farm in a beautiful and idyllic landscape that is surrounded by other various types of farms; dairy, beef, goat, sheep and vegetable. With a mix of wide open hay and grazing fields, and woodlands, the views are beautifully serene, and the song-birds are aplenty. The farm is on a well maintained dirt road, that rarely has any traffic, and isn't visible from the house, it is a very quiet location, with the occasional normal sounds of neighbor activities that you would hear in an agricultural neighborhood. Middlebury and Middlebury College are about a 12-15 minute drive from here, and offer cute shops and a quintessential New England medium sized town experience. There are a multitude of restaurants, bakeries, natural foods coop, farmers markets, coffee shops, gyms, a golf course in Middlebury, and the area is full of outdoor activities like hiking, boating, swimming, skiing, etc. If you plan to sight see, or leave the farm to do other things, driving is the best option. Ubers are available, and there is a free local bus in Middlebury to take you from place to place or even to different towns, however that bus doesn't come out to the farm. There is also a new AMTRAK train that goes to and from NYC once a day. The greenhouse attached to the guest house will be converted into a new dining area and kitchen complete with a clay oven during the 2023 season. The space will be used to offer farm to fork dinners for guests. 1/4mile down the road from my farm is the farm of some good friends who raise beef, chicken, pork and also have dairy and eggs.
