At the top of a bumpy gravel hill, you’ll find a private oasis that overlooks 10 miles of rolling hillside of the Missouri River valley. Surrounded by forest, the only company is the wildlife. The view is amazing and the sunsets are awe inspiring. The home is open with lots of unique artwork. I encourage you to step away from technology and experience this Zen retreat. Gardens, walking trails, fire pits, jacuzzi tub, covered deck, pool, peace & privacy. Vaulted ceilings and Two story atrium windows overlook the pool and 10 miles of rolling hills beyond that. Open floor plan encompasses the living, dining & kitchen areas. Covered deck and laundry room. the large 16’ X 14’ zen inspired master bedroom has a king size bed, jacuzzi tub, stand up shower, & double vanity in the attached bathroom. There’s also a large walk-in closet & 45” TV. The other two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, and the other with a full and twin size bed, will share the bathroom in the hallway. Walk down the stairs and you’ll find a 1 person library with a comfy chair overlooking the pool. The rest of the lower level is not accessible to guests. Same with the garage & out building. In the gardens, you’ll experience peaceful, moss covered sitting areas with 4 different precision tuned wind chimes that all harmonize with each other. A great place to meditate. Or you can take a stroll down several walking/hiking trails I’ve created in the forest. To access the pool, walk around either side of the house (approximately 94 strides) to find a grassy area, concrete patio with a slip resistant surface, 2 sun loungers, umbrella and table with 4 chairs. A bit further down, a fire pit. Free firewood available upon request. I charge one $40 pet fee and this covers you up to 5 dogs, cats, or whatever it is that you consider companions. Please pick up after them thoroughly. You’ll have the entire main level of the house to yourself minus the garage, lower level and the white metal out building. There is a circle gravel driveway with a center island garden, 2 fire pits, 3 walking/hiking trails in the woods & a play structure with slide & tire swing for the kids. The 48” deep, 24 foot across above ground pool is open starting Memorial Day weekend and closes Labor Day. The sunsets can be incredibly amazing from April-September in this backyard area! There is an air compressor under the deck for blowing up inflatable pool toys. Note: between the pool and sun deck is a 5-6’ drop off. The entrance deck to get in the pool is not currently gated or locked, but will be once again in the future. I own the home and live here when I don’t have guests. I have my personal belongings in the lower level. When you book the place, I do all the cleaning, and prepare the space according to your party’s needs, so the more info you can provide me with, the better your experience will be. If you’ve planned a trip to St. Louis, or are just passing through, spending a few hours at the Missouri Botanical Garden will be something you won’t regret. It’s super easy to get to- exit Vandeventer off I-44 in St. Louis. Safe neighborhood. Their Japanese Garden is INCREDIBLE! Search mobot org for more information. 4WD recommended but any car will do. Safe community but not very walking friendly. 📌 NO CABLE TV! I have 40+ antenna channels on a smart TV. Internet & Wi-Fi available. 📌 There is a steep gravel hill from the highway to reach my home. Access may be limited or even impossible during extreme snow or ice. 4wheel drive vehicle is recommended. 📌 No barbecue grill but there’s a built in cooking rack in the back fire pit. Build a hot fire underneath with hardwood for the best taste imaginable. 📌 While I respect your privacy, during the spring & summer I may need to maintain the pool with chemicals, water the garden, and briefly enter the lower level of home through private entrance IF I must fulfill an order to ship out during the week.
