The documents that can be presented are defined in Articles 9 and 10, no. 3 of the Foreigners Law, Law 23/2007, of 4 July, in its current wording, and are the following: 1. Passport or document that replaces it. 2. Identity Card or document that replaces it: 3. Documents issued under relevant conventions between States Parties to the North Atlantic Treaty; 4. Laissez-passer issued by the authorities of the State of which they are nationals or of the State that represents them; 5. Flight permit or crew member certificate; 6. Maritime identification document, when in service; 7. Maritime registration card, when in service; 8. Residence permit, extension of stay or with the identity card granted to diplomats and their administrative and domestic staff or equivalent, to employees of international organizations based in Portugal and members of their families; 9. Birth certificate or annotations in the parents' passport or by those who exercise parental authority over minors. 10. Other documents issued by national or foreign authorities when, for reasonable reasons (theft, robbery, etc.) the person cannot present the passport or any other document. 11.
