Many prehistoric sites have been found by the Lodévois Archaeological Group. One of the largest dolmens in the region is located in the commune. This commune of Piedmont was on the passage of a Roman road connecting Nîmes to Lodève. It is therefore rich in Gallo-Roman remains, one of the most important of which from the century was excavated in 1967 by Abbot Maistre and his team. An important archaeological collection has thus been exhumed, including more than 400 reconstructible containers. Some of these objects can be seen at the Lodève Museum.
