A unique, cozy, revamped, shabby around the edges, mountain escape in the heart of Tullah, offering a rustic and comfortable base to explore the spectacular Wild West Coast, including Cradle Mountain. While it’s not a luxury retreat, it’s a charming and functional cottage that provides everything you need for a peaceful nature rich getaway. Here’s what you can expect: • A Hotel Style Comfortable Stay Two bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds ( 1 Super King, 1 Queen, 1 single) , luxe linens & duck down doonas with bamboo pillows to ensure a restful night’s sleep, with an AC system that keeps you warm and cozy or cool, depending on the season. • A Well-Equipped Space: The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking up a storm and the spa bath is great for a soak after a long day of exploring (though it’s more of a bathtub with jets than a jacuzzi). • Great Location: Tullah may be a quiet little town, but it’s ideally situated within an hour of Cradle Mountain and surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes that make the area truly special. • Cozy Cottage Charm: With its rustic vibe and thoughtful decor, the house is a shack, perfect for those who value simplicity and a homey feel. The Mountain Shack has its quirks. It’s an older house with character and a few rough edges (patiently awaiting a full renovation in 2026) but it’s a warm, welcoming place to pause and explore Tasmania’s wild beauty. Perfect for a few days of adventuring and unwinding. From $125 per night, it’s an affordable, practical option for travelers looking to discover the natural wonders of the region. Because sometimes, the best escapes are the ones that embrace simplicity and authenticity. ✨ For the ultimate in relaxation with have an old school DVD player complete with the perfect collection of old school blockbusters... think Ghost, Dirty Dancing... we think Kath and Kim even managed to sneak in there. Children's books, puzzles & games are also available. We do have a cot and high chair available. Please notify us at the time of booking as we send it off for cleaning and sanitising between bookings. We have thought of EVERYTHING and if we have missed something just tell us and we will make it happen. Guest access This mid makeover mountain view shack makes Tullah your perfect basecamp to explore all of the wilderness, treasures & adventure Tasmania's West Coast has to offer. It's far from perfect, but its clean, plush furnishings, oozes character and gives you a true experience of the treasure that can be found here on the West Coast. Peace & tranquility. Other things to note We are in a remote town. Please be aware services in the area are limited. We are a low-tox listing. All of our cleaning and amenities are chemical free. We also provide cast iron cook ware & natural fabric linens (this includes feather doonas & bamboo pillows). Pets are allowed on approval. Pets are not to be left alone inside the property. Pets are not permitted on furniture or beds. Excessive pet mess requiring extra cleaning will be charged to the guest. Please note: The house is scheduled for a major renovation at the beginning of next year. We have polished the shack & furnished it eloquently but it still is rough around the edges.
