The charming cabin is perfectly situated just above the stream, to take full advantage of the water view and sounds, from the amazing 12' covered and screened porch. The cabin has great access from both the water and the ample parking area. Enjoy main-floor living, with a well-appointed kitchen, dining, living area, two bedrooms and two baths, all on one level! No stairs to climb. The inviting great room includes a cozy gas fireplace and a large TV, with satellite connections and free Internet wi-fi. The large kitchen comes complete with a dishwasher, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and all the dining accessories you’ll want for peaceful home-cooked meals. The dining room seats four, with room for six more at the island bar. Of course, there’s more dining available on the covered porch – as well as a bed for falling asleep to the gurgle of the stream passing beneath you. The cabin décor is rustic and very comfortable, with charming wood paneling, cathedral ceilings and a double vanity in one of the bathrooms. You’ll be 20 minutes from downtown West Jefferson and 45 minutes to Boone. You’re also just minutes from the Thistle Meadow Winery. In the High Country, area recreation opportunities include fishing, hunting, hiking, biking, canoeing, tubing, zip-lining, cave exploration and more, all minutes away from the Cabin at Cranberry Mills. Local outfitters will equip you with everything you need for days of fun in the water. Other nearby attractions include Grandfather Mountain, Mount Jefferson State Park, and of course, Tweetsie Railroad! Wherever you go, gorgeous scenery awaits you at every turn. You’ll understand how our mountains got their name! Start the day hiking the short Cascade Falls Trail in Jeffress Park, directly off the Parkway. In the quaint mountain town of West Jefferson you’ll find restaurants and terrific shopping, including antique stores and art galleries. Sample the local crafts and harvests at the Ashe County Farmers Market or watch cheese being made at the world-famous Ashe County Cheese Factory. We are located in downtown West Jefferson and operate 50+ High Country vacation rentals! Guest access Your family has the entire property to yourselves, of course! Go straight to your vacation cabin with your specific lockbox/door code. PRO TIPS: (1) We recommend you place the key back in the lockbox to prevent an accidental lockout as there is an extra key inside! (2) Screen print directions & codes (in case cell service struggles) & bring a flashlight if arriving after dark. (3) To open the Vault Lockbox, enter the lockbox code by lining up the numbers in the middle. Grab the sides of the lockbox with your thumb and forefinger and pull the lockbox face towards you.
