Welcome all to Robyn’s Nest. A detached 1 bed/1 bath guesthouse all to yourself with large windows facing the mountains, hills and a beautiful view of our neighbour’s horses in their pasture. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wine, beverages, snacks & a large variety of breakfast items, plus pasta, sauce & cheese for a stay in supper are included in your stay. 10 min to Hinton/45 min to Jasper. PLEASE NOTE: there is no access to the laundry room in winter months (Dec to March $99 rate/night). The space We have a small acreage that we named Split Tree Acres and on it is our main house and then a separate detached guesthouse that we call Robyn’s Nest. You access the acreage off Highway 16 and then onto highway 40 South for 1 km before heading down a beautiful paved winding road 4 km long with gorgeous mountain views before reaching the acreage. No gravel except a bit of sand & small gravel in our driveway. (Exact directions come 3-4 days before check in along with your door code) 🌸 The Nest’s bedroom has a comfy queen bed and a large closet with lots of hangers, shelf and two luggage racks. There is also a large shelving unit in the bedroom for your items. Two nightstands with USB ports and reading lamps. Extra sheets, pillows and blankets. Relax beside the gas fireplace in the comfortable living area. The recliner is perfect for reading, tv or stretch out for a snooze. You can also cuddle up with pillows and throws on the love seat. Read a book, watch tv or a dvd, play an instrument, use the record/cd player (lots of music) or just relax. Good variety of board games for two players as well. Kitchenette has induction hot plate, toaster, sink, small fridge (no freezer)see below, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, dishes, utensils and many more amenities. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and bottled water are provided, including breakfast items: yogurts, muffins, bagels, porridge, eggs & juice. Butter, jam, cream cheese & are also provided. There pasta noodles, pasta sauce and Parmesan cheese if you don’t make it to the grocery store for supper on your first night. Safeway grocery is only 6 km away. A small kitchen table and 2 chairs is nice for your dinner, snacks or to play a game ( it also doubles as extra counter space or a work station). Full bath with tub/shower combination. Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, mouthwash, make up removers, lotion and bath salts. Lots of cozy towels, including 2 brand new swim towels for Miette hot springs or the lake. Enough empty floor space for yoga (mat provided). Guest access Lighted keyless self check-in. You have access to the entire acreage. Wander! There are many places to sit outside. There is a fire pit area available with Chopped firewood and kindling. Kindly provide provided me with advance notice if you are wanting a fire (if one is allowed during fire season) If not please feel free to still use that area. The swing is lovely. The back deck is all for you! It has a cozy pergola for shade, many chairs, propane fire pit, patio lights and a six seater dining table. You may also use the propane BBQ. We have put up privacy curtains on our sunroom windows and patio doors so that you feel more at ease when using the pergola or propane fire bowl. Also, out back facing Roche Miette mountain is a 3 seat bistro set or watch the horses graze. There are lawn games available in the spring/summer. You also have access to 2 bicycles for use in the subdivision (one ladies cruiser and a men’s mountain bike & helmets provided). If you require laundry services during your stay; you are most welcome to use our washer and dryer (and supplies). Located through door off back deck. There is another door inside the laundry room that we always keep closed to separate our space. Since there is no freezer in the guesthouse we have cleared a shelf for you in our stand up freezer in the laundry room; that you have access to through our back door. Also, Ice is provided as well in the stand up freezer. Let us know if you empty it. Finally, don’t forget to help yourselves to individual ice creams out of the freezer! Other things to note Hinton a community of 10,000 is only 6 km away with all amenities. Jasper National Park gates are 17 km away and then Jasper townsite is another 53 km away. Miette Hot Springs are 40 km away from our door step. A place to hike, explore, eat, soak & relax. Maybe even see a black bear & cubs. Whatever you do or wherever you go in the area; I do not think you will be disappointed. Please ask if you have questions about the Hinton/Cadomin/Switzer Park/Jasper/Banff & Lake Louise area. I should know or will be able to ascertain the info you require. If you book for a week you receive 15% off the posted daily rate. Return guests receive 10% off per night or 20% for a week (these discounts may increase as otherwise agreed upon) The guesthouse is not suitable for infants or children (safety reasons) and I am not set up to accommodate more than 2 guests for sleeping arrangements. Visitors welcome during the day (must be 13 and over for safety reasons) up until quiet hour. We love pets but we don’t have any now. We don’t allow pets in the Nest; unless it is a service animal. Bring your bikes, kayaks or canoes. There are many places to use them less than 1/2 hour from our acreage. See guidebook attached. As we have a large driveway (circular) and plenty of parking you may bring your utility trailer with quads, motorcycles, kayaks, canoes or snowmobiles. Check-in between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm. Check-out is 12:00 pm (noon) PS: Just a heads up for travelling there is a one hour time zone change between Alberta and British Columbia. BC is one hour earlier than Alberta.
