1 bedroom garden apartment in Forest Park

Unique private garden apartment in our single family residence. Great location approximately 8 miles directly west of downtown Chicago. Close to shopping, dining, entertainment and public transportation to the city. One bedroom & best for 2 people but could sleep 3 ($50 fee) for short stays. It's important to note that this is a garden/ground/lower level apartment. The ceilings are relatively low at 6.5'. This would not be the best space for tall people. Free parking in front of the house. The space Rear side entrance and just 4 steps down to your private apartment. You will have a nicely sized fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances, pots & pans, utensils and coffee maker. The bedroom is a nice size and has a new (very comfortable!) Tempur-Pedic king sized bed with quality linens. There is a cedar lined custom closet with lots of space for your belongings. The daybed off the kitchen provides the sleeping solution for a 3rd person. Extra bedding provided upon request. The living room is cozy and has a smart tv for Netflix, Amazon Prime & Hulu. We do not have standard cable. The bathroom has been updated with the exception of the basic standup shower. Towels, soap, shampoo / conditioner and body wash will be provided. In warmer months, we have a portable AC/Fan/Dehumidifier which vents out the window. It's not the quietest but it does the job. If you use it, you will need to empty the bucket that catches the water. Please turn it off when you leave the apartment so that it doesn't overflow. In colder months, we have a small electric "fire place" and space heater in the bedroom for added coziness. The laundry room is right outside your unit and you are welcome to use it. Feel free to use our detergent / dryer sheets etc.. Guest access Key code safe - Side exterior entrance - 4 steps down to apartment. I will contact you the night before your arrival with check in details. Other things to note As mentioned, we live upstairs. This means that you will hear us living in our home. We are a peaceful family but you will hear us walking, talking & laughing. We also have an adorable Chihuahua / Pug / terrorist mix named Ozzy. He believes that it is his job to bark at dogs that walk by the house and he wants to kill the mailman. You may hear him. We also have 2 cats, Steve and little girl who are brother and sister. You'll know which one is Steve if you meet them, We have a cat door to our unit upstairs and if guests don't mind, I will keep it open which gives them access to the back stairs. Our home is clean and animals do not enter your unit but if you have serious allergies, this may not be the best place for you. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible if the reservation schedule allows for it. There is a $20 per hour fee and these arrangements will need to be pre-approved.
