Designed by HGTV host and Yosemite local, Orlando Soria, Londo Lodge is a great place to spend time with friends and family. Featuring three full bedrooms with king size beds as well as two other sleeping areas (a bed and a pull out sofa), a large kitchen, and plenty of beautifully furnished spaces to gather in, this is a great home for a family or a group of friends looking for a woodland getaway. Each room at Londo Lodge was meticulously designed by best selling author and renowned interior designer Orlando Soria, an eclectic designer known for creating spaces that are comfortable, creative, and thoughtfully planned. You won't find a home in the area that has this kind of relevant, youthful style. The primary bedroom features a cool yet comforting color palette, a four poster bed, and views out onto the forest outside the home. The upstairs guest bedroom features a stunning gorgeous hand-painted antique Japanese screen, contemporary furniture, and a soothing millennial pink color palette. The Glamping Tent offers something special not seen elsewhere - the ability to get that "I camped!" vibe without having to deal with the bugs and lack of indoor facilities. Downstairs, the guest room is adorned with a beautiful wall mural, a comfy bed, and a sectional sofa. Each of the bedrooms features ample space for storing your belongings, custom blackout roman shades, beautiful carpets, distinctive nightstands, and warm lighting. Look around town - you're not gonna see features like this at the other rentals. The home is also special because of how many areas there are to hang out. Upstairs, there's a reading nook adjacent to the Glamping Tent. Downstairs, you can choose to veg out and watch Netflix in TV lounger, grab a book and head over to the fireside lounge (one fire-starter log provided NOV-MAR to winter guests and more available at local shops), or sit at the brand new kitchen peninsula. In warmer months, the deck is fully furnished with a large scale sectional, outdoor dining area, and views onto the forest of pines that envelopes the house. Please Note that the BBQ is not available during winter months. Typically Nov-Mar. The entirety of the home is accessible to guests with the exception of the gym, garage, and certain parts of the yard (depending on season). Please use caution when walking around the home as there are a lot of native plants to protect as well as areas that may not be safe for small children because of uneven walkways and the potential to harm native species of plants, animals, and insects. Londo Lodge is expertly managed by Cheryl Miller, a distinguished property manager with years of experiences and thousands of happy stays under her belt. She is responsive, friendly, and sensitive to guests' needs. Because this is a rural area and she travels from home to home, she prefers to be contacted via text when possible. Nestled at the top of a forested country road, Londo Lodge is in a secluded, peaceful neighborhood filled with pine-scented air and surrounded by wildlife. Parking is easy to find, located directly in front of the house. At Londo Lodge, we do our best to ensure we are using the most environmentally friendly products possible. We use non-toxic cleaners and detergents. And unlike many rentals in the area, you won't find noxious-scented dish liquid, hand soaps, and bath products. The home's owner, Orlando Soria, doesn't mess with cheap cleaning and bath products. The dish soap is Mrs Meyers Iowa Pine, the hand soap is Frasier Fir by Thymes, and the Shampoo and Conditioner are by sustainable, plant-based beauty brand Captain Blankenship, free from dyes and parabens. These are small details, but it's the small details that make the difference between a "meh" rental and a vacation experience that truly feels luxurious. It's the small details that really make the difference. Another thing that sets this home apart is the lot it sits on. Because of the mountainous terrain of this area, it's very hard to find a home on a plot of land that is this flat (most sit on the sides of cliffs and are four stories tall with common areas, kitchens, and bedrooms all on different floors). The setting is serene, set far away from the traffic noise of Highway 41. The only sounds you'll hear are the trilling of the tree squirrels and (occasionally) the faint whistling of the 1913 Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad in the distance. This is a home that is meant to be revisited season after season. Spring brings the vibrant and lush blooming of the stunning lupine that surrounds the home. In summer, you'll smell the tender leafiness of the ferns that are sprinkled around the property. Fall brings that wonderful smell of freshly fallen leaves dampened by overnight condensation. And winter brings the most magic of all - snow often blankets the yard and cocoons the house (there's no cozier time to visit, though please note that due to the high price of propane and the extremely high cost of snow removal in this area, winter prices are significantly higher). This is a truly relaxing and serene home. And booking now means you'll be one of the first to experience it. Orlando has spent three full years personally updating the home to bring it up to his standards. And this year, a major kitchen renovation took the formerly dated kitchen and made it into something right out of a Nancy Meyers movie. The luxury kitchen features Bertazzoni Heritage Appliances, lighting by Hudson Valley Lighting, Fireclay tile, and a wide array of beautiful dishes and cookware. This home was a labor of love and Orlando is very excited to share it with you. About Orlando: Orlando grew up in Yosemite Valley (you can see his childhood home at 9015 Lost Arrow Road in Yosemite - please do not disturb the current inhabitants). The house he grew up in was located a half mile from the Lower Yosemite Falls, which rattled the window panes in the summer months when the falls were raging. A life long lover of design, Orlando always felt the park's lodging offerings were lacking in style. Which is why he wanted to create a truly elegant and cool place to stay. You won't see beds with no nightstands or bears sculpted out of tree trunks in this house. This is a home for people who love nature but also love art, culture, and city life (you don't have to choose just one!).
