La Métive is a research and creative residence that welcomes artists and researchers from around the world in spaces designed to support the development of their ongoing projects. Above all, La Métive is a meeting place, open to travelers, tourists, and neighbors: it's a vibrant place, and everyone who visits helps keep it alive. There are rooms available for rent to sleep, write, rest, work in a different way, stay temporarily, or spend time together. The space 🏡 The space La Métive is housed in the former mill of Moutier-d'Ahun Abbey. The bedrooms and common areas are located in the miller's house, while the old mill houses creative spaces, a riso printing workshop, and a community café open every Tuesday evening. It's a vibrant place, a hub for welcoming and connecting: artists and researchers in residence, passing travelers, volunteers, and neighbors all come together here. The house is quiet and clean, but often quite crowded! 🛏️ Bedrooms & layout We have 8 bedrooms that can accommodate 1 to 3 people, with single and/or double beds. If this is important to you, please specify your bedding preferences upon booking, and we will try to accommodate your request whenever possible. 🪟 Common spaces Ground floor: shared bathroom, toilet, and laundry room 1st floor: well-equipped shared kitchen, living-dining room, toilet 2nd floor: shared bathroom, toilet 🌱 The garden is municipal property, so you can walk around, read, or take a nap there, but barbecues must be held on the house's terrace. 🧺 Linen & check-out Linens and towels are provided Before you go, please: • Strip the beds • Put laundry in or in front of the machine (laundry room on the ground floor) • Empty your trash cans 💻 Comfort & remote work Fiber optic internet: The Wi-Fi passwords are displayed on all floors of the house, so you can work in peace! Home cool in summer, well-heated in winter 🚭 Rules We are not a hotel: we offer affordable accommodation for the joy of connecting with others. House rules: No racist comments or any form of discrimination will be tolerated. 🏳️‍🌈 The house is LGBTQIA+ friendly: everyone is welcome, with respect and warmth 💜✨ Guest access La Métive is located in the village of Moutier-d'Ahun, 0.6 miles from Ahun. 🚗 If you are driving, you can park your car in front of La Métive, on the mill side. 🏍️ If you have a motorcycle or a bicycle 🚴‍♀️, we can park it in the entrance hall of La Métive (please let us know if this is the case). 👞 If you are on foot, there are several public transport options available; please let us know so we can advise you. On the property, you will have access to all common areas: 🛋️ living-dining room, 🍳 fully equipped kitchen, 🚿 bathroom, and 🚻 toilet. Rooms are private. 🤝 We share certain living areas, in a spirit of hospitality and conviviality 💬✨.
