We have a neighbor 300 yards away who was actually the original builder of the home. He and his wife like to take strolls out to the pond and sit on the log bench from time to time. The vibe of the property is serene and quiet. 15min away is the Massanutten Four Season Resort, which is the highlight of the area. Golfing, water park, hiking and skiing are few of the main activities you can enjoy. We whole -heartedly recommend making a trip up to Massanutten during your stay. Finally, we've spent a lot of time in the local community and have curated a list of great places to visit when you're in Elkton. Please refer to the digital guidebook for these local hot spots. The initial payment will act as an electronic signature confirming acceptance of the following: PLEASE NOTE BEFORE BOOKING: -The long driveway to the house is located right off the highway and, if arriving at night, it can be a little difficult to spot. Keep an eye out for the gravel driveway -There is plenty of space for multiple cars to park -This backs up to the woods so THERE CAN BE A LOT OF BUGS, especially in the warmer months. Please keep all of this in mind. Even though we treat the cabin monthly and clean frequently, some of the bugs will inevitably find their way inside. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep all the doors closed, keep the kitchen / food area clean and securely package up all food. FINALLY, DO NOT LEAVE ANY FOOD OR TRASH OUTSIDE - THIS WILL ATTRACT BUGS AND WILD ANIMALS. PET POLICY: We do allow pets at this property, which is a $100 flat fee per pet. WIFI/CELL SERVICE: Due to the physical location of the cabin (as well as most of the other homes in the area), WiFi is available through satellite internet (Viastat). It is impossible to get standard wifi service out at this location as the time of writing this. Unfortunately it is not as fast and as reliable as your standard internet. We can't guarantee speed and reliability. Cell service tends to be really good in this area. WATER AND SEPTIC: The property uses private wells and septic systems. The mineral content in the water may be high and the well water may have an odor and/or color. The septic system is effective under normal conditions; however, it will clog if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. Feminine hygiene products may not be flushed at any time. If it is found that improper products have been flushed causing a clog in the septic system, the Guest will be responsible for repair charges. ON PROPERTY POND: The guest agrees that there is NO SWIMMING OR ENTERING THE POND that is located on the property. This is off limits. USE OF HOT TUB: The guests agree to pay any repairs for damage to the hot tub caused by the guests. Guests agree that NO oils, shampoos, conditioners, bubble baths, soaps or any other harmful materials will be used in the hot tub. No glass products whatsoever are allowed in or around the hot tub. If any items such as soaps, bath products, food, alcohol, etc. are found in the tub, the guest will be charged a cleaning fee of $100. Damage to a hot tub cover will result in a $500 charge. The cover should remain on the hot tub at all times when not in use. WAIVER OR LIABILITY FOR HOT TUB Guests acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in the use of the hot tub. Guests voluntarily assume the risk of injury, accident, death, personal injury, or property damage that may arise from the use of the hot tub. By using the hot tub guests agree to follow all house rules associated with it and release the Host/property owner from any and all claims, liability or losses whatsoever arising out of or in any way associated with the guest's use of the hot tub, including but not limited to death, personal injury, or property damage, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence
