Welcome to the Big Rock Cabin. Perched on a mountain in Catskills with panoramic views and modern amenities. Local attractions include Belleayre, Plattekill , Wyndham & Hunter Ski resorts, hiking, swimming holes, golf, kayaking, farm markets, antique stores, restaurants, wedding venues and more. Spend a day outdoors. relax in the 6 person Hot Tub, light a fire outside or curl up by the fireplace. Chef's kitchen, Air conditioned rooms. A fenced front yard is ideal for those with kids or pets. The Cabin has been newly renovated bringing modern amenities to old world charm offering panoramic views from the walkout Patio Doors in your living room, cozy firepit and hot tub. Situated on 5 acres towards the end of a town maintained road and close to all area attractions including Belleayre Ski Resort (19 min), Plattekill Ski Resort (17 min), Wyndham and Hunter Ski Resorts (~50 - 60 min), Kayaking, hiking trails, swimming holes, Lakes, Fly fishing and waterfalls, the famous Round Barn (Pakatakan Farmers Market ), Wedding Venues, Delaware Scenic Railway, village of Margaretville, Hanah Golf Course, restaurants and more. Margaretville is known for its dark skies to enjoy stargazing on a clear night. Outdoor Area There are expansive outdoor spaces available for you to enjoy including front deck, Hot Tub and Firepit, Fenced Lawn with lounges. There is additional huge backyard with a Gazebo and a 2nd Firepit to enjoy during your stay. Walkout from the living room to the front deck which has a counter height, 6 seater gas fire table, large weber grill, a swing and lounge seating. Work from the deck with high speed wifi and mountain views. A Celestron Powerseeker Telescope is available should you want to explore the constellations on a clear night sky from the deck. (Please take the telescope back inside the Living Room should you do so so others can enjoy it as well and it does not get damaged if left outside. ) The deck lead to a front yard setup with lounge chaises for relaxing and soaking in the views. The front yard is fenced for safety and peace of mind specially for families with kids or pets while vacationing at our home. Work from the deck while enjoying nature and the scenic mountain views. The front yard has a 6 seater , 90 jet hot tub and a wood burning fire pit (wood provided) to roast marshmallows, hotdogs or just relax and have a good time. The Kitchen A cook's delight - the Chef’s kitchen is equipped with a Professional Wolf gas range, Bosch Refrigerator, well stocked with all essential cookware and spices. Appliances include microwave, toaster, waffle maker, Food processor/ Blender and an RO (reverse osmosis) water fountain. A large roasting pan is also included for those special gatherings. It is great for someone who loves to cook. There are several local food options nearby in case you would like to relax and take it easy ! Enjoy your coffee the way you like it. The Coffee Station has a Keurig, Bialetti Mocha Pot, Pour-Over Coffee Pot, Coffee grinder and Tea Kettle and is stocked with essential supplies. The reclaimed teak wood dining table to enjoy family meals that comfortably seats 6-8 adults. A Washer Dryer is available for Laundry should you need to use one. The Living Room The living room is naturally lit with 3 large skylights with walkout patio doors and high cathedral ceiling. It has 2 fireplaces - one gas and one wood burning (wood provided) for that cozy night indoors. The newly installed heat pump (air conditioner) provides energy efficient heating or cooling. A large 65 inch QLED 4K TV with Roku enables you to stream movies or your favorite shows. A DVD player with selection of DVDs, record player with selection of records, and plenty of books and board games will ensure you have a great time. Rooms & Sleeping Arrangements There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that sleeps 6 people. The master bedroom is located on the first floor and has a connected bathroom. Additional 2 bedrooms are on the second floor and share a bathroom. All 3 bedrooms have heat pump (air conditioner) for heating or cooling. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Linen & Towels, hairdryer, iron are provided for your convenience. Stay Connected or Work from home with High Speed Internet (250 Down/20 Up). desks and portable C tables for your convenience. The home is self-check-in, an access code for the electronic keypad on the entrance door will be provided prior to check-in. Main entrance is from the BACK/REAR of the house through the mud room. Guests have access to the entire home including the front yard and backyard (excluding supply and utility closets. Outside Amenities are weather dependent and the deck setup changes with season. The hot tub is accessible through out the year, including winter. I am available to answer any queries and help. I have a local team to help and support. The cabin is situated on 5 acres, located towards the end of a town maintained road. Quiet neighborhood and private setting. The views from the house are gorgeous. It’s right in the sweet spot where it feels peaceful and secluded but it’s also very easy to get to groceries, restaurants etc and close to some great hiking. Winter : Personal , snow worthy vehicle for getting around. This is a mountain top cabin with panoramic views . In winter , with snow on the ground, you will need a snow worthy vehicle with good tires to make the drive (the last 1 mile) . While a 4W/AW drive is not necessary in Spring , Summer and Fall season, it is recommended in winter and during incremental weather with snow on the ground and mountain slopes when road conditions may not be the best. The township is great about plowing and sanding the roads and we do plow the short (~350 ft) private driveway to the house in the event of snow , a car with low traction will have difficulties navigating the mountain roads and pulling up the gravel driveway. Spring-Summer-Fall : Personal Vehicle Open Parking available on driveway. Level 2 EV Charging outlet (50 amp) available for electric cars. You will need to get your adaptor/ cable. Cell service is spotty in the area but phone calls through WiFi work great from the cabin. This is a mountain top cabin with panoramic views . In incremental weather including Snow, Ice and excessive rain, you will need a snow worthy vehicle The Cabin has a universal 50 Amp 250 Volt, NEMA 14-50R Weatherproof Outlet Receptacle installed for Level 2 charging power for your EV. The connecting adaptor / cable is not provided. You will need to bring your own adaptor cable to charge your car. There is a flight of stairs to reach the 2 bedrooms upstairs. We provide access to baby gates should you want to use / install them to block any area off . We also have a child high chair which can be provided upon request. We have a strict No Smoking inside the house. Smoking smell will incur a fine of $500 to remove the smells professionally
