Located on a quiet country road, our quaint little cottage is a lovely place to unwind, make memories, and embrace the simpler life. Featuring an open concept first floor with a cozy living space, an electric fireplace, and a well stocked kitchen. We have been working hard to create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Important: the cottage is located next to our home on 5 acres, if you are looking for seclusion, keep looking. We are a large work at home family. You will see and hear us. The space The 800 sq ft. cottage was built in 1890 from materials right off the property. Some items are original and give you the feel of an older farmhouse such as textured plastered walls and ceilings, exposed hand hewn post and beams, and a claw foot tub in the bathroom with stained enamel by the drain to name a few. There are also updated features that give you the comfort and feel of a modern home such as a butcher block kitchen countertop, updated paneling walls in the kitchen, carpet and vinyl flooring, etc. Guest access The entire cottage is yours to enjoy. There is a large deck area. Our home is directly next door and our children play on our property. If privacy is an extreme concern to you, we recommend finding another listing. The cottage is located on a shared driveway, the home across the driveway belongs to our neighbor. We ask that you do not enter any fenced areas, animal pens, or barns without a host present. Other things to note This is a rural location. The 130 year old cottage is located next to the woods. Bugs, particularly box elder bugs and lady bugs can be an issue in the fall. We do our best to power wash the cottage as box elders seem to be particularly attracted to the cedar siding. There will likely be some of nature's visitors who have made their way inside. If bugs make you sqeamish, this country listing is not for you.
