Our self-contained apartment offers over 80 square meters with a large living room with fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, 2 double bedrooms, 1 bunk bed room, 1 bathroom/shower/toilet and a furnished terrace with enough space for 1 to a maximum of 7 people. The space Our quietly located house is situated on a property of approximately 1,700 square meters, featuring a large play area, a sunbathing lawn, and a garden grill. As a special service, we offer our guests the benefits of the Bayerischer Wald Aktiv-Card as an inclusive service! A shopping facility with its own bakery is very close by (< 100 meters). Mauth/Finsterau (700–1300 m) is a state-recognized recreational and winter sports resort, located right on the Bavarian Forest/Šumava National Park, in the heart of the “Green Roof of Europe,” one of the most beautiful and unspoiled landscapes in Germany. In the summer, the herb-growing community of Finsterau is the starting point for many beautiful excursions and hikes, including some that cross borders: to the Czech Republic and Austria, to the “City of Three Rivers” Passau, to the wildlife and enclosure area in the national park, along the world’s longest treetop trail at the Lusen National Park Center in Neuschönau, and to our local mountains, the Rachel and the Lusen. In winter, Mauth/Finsterau offers cross-country skiers the longest network of trails in Bavaria, with over 120 km (75 miles), as well as 50 km (31 miles) of cleared winter hiking trails, which are also ideal for snowshoe hikers. A variety of events take place throughout the year at the Finsterau open-air museum. A special bonus is our NATIONAL PARK CARD, which you will receive upon arrival and can use in a variety of ways: free bus and train travel within the National Park region.
