Guest access 🌿 Explore Eugene’s Scenic Hillside Neighborhood Our neighborhood is a true delight for visitors who love nature, walking, and history. Casual strolls or vigorous runs take you through nearby Hendricks Park 🌸, Eugene’s oldest city park, spanning 80 acres with miles of walking trails, native plant gardens, and scenic picnic spots. One block away is the famous 12-acre Rhododendron Garden — a must-see for photographers and plant enthusiasts alike. Off-street parking fits two vehicles, with additional street parking available. The home is a 20-minute walk (about 1 mile) to Hayward Field 🏃♂️, though note that the hill down to the field is steep and sidewalks are limited. Guests should take care while walking or driving, and enjoy the street full of fellow walkers and runners. Texting and walking or driving is discouraged — put your phone down for a few minutes and savor the peaceful neighborhood and its convenient location. One direction from the home winds down a hairpin turn toward the University of Oregon 🦆 campus, while the other leads directly to Hendricks Park and its Rhododendron Garden. The area is also a destination for those looking to pay homage to Steve Prefontaine, the legendary runner whose legacy continues to inspire generations. Other things to note The house itself is understated — cozy and comfortable rather than grand or flashy — and that’s just fine, because the surroundings are absolutely spectacular. 😍 For those who can navigate stairs safely, this home offers a serene, elevated retreat with incredible views — a unique spot where the scenery truly takes center stage.
