Ferrarotti is located in the southern part of Piedmont, in the district of Langhe, about 20 minutes drive from Barolo. The area is famous for its beautiful scenery, wine, cheese, truffles, hazelnuts and Piedmontese cuisine. The house is completely undisturbed, about 500 meters above sea level, with vineyards on all sides and a separate small vineyard with Dolcetto grapes. There is a heated pool with stunning views (infinity pool) and a large and lovely garden with several seating areas. The space Cascina Ferrarotti was completely restored about twenty years ago. It was an old farmhouse that was about to collapse. Today the house has 5 apartments of different sizes. The largest ("Frairot") is 70 m2 over two floors, the two middle ones ("Rosso" and "Blu") are 50 m2 over two floors and the two smallest ("Giallo" and "Verde") are about 25 - 30 m2. The house is in traditional Langhe style, but the apartments are modernly furnished with all amenities. The apartment Blu is 50 m2 and is on two floors. On the top floor there is a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. On the lower floor there is a sofa bed that sleeps two. There is waterborne heating in the floor. The apartment has an entrance on the first floor and access to the porch on the second floor, as well as a patio where you can enjoy the afternoon sun (until the sun goes down behind the mountains on the horizon. Sustainable tourism: All apartments are heated by the need for waterborne heating in the floors. Hot water is heated with solar collectors and heat pump with power from solar panels. The property is therefore self-sufficient in energy for much of the year. There are two electric car chargers for guests. Although the property is located high and undisturbed, there are plenty of opportunities for activities nearby. It is an hour by car (or train) to Turin or to the Mediterranean coast, three quarters to the mountains with many opportunities for trips on foot or by bike - and good alpine facilities in winter and - a short car or bike ride to many charming towns - or vineyards. Ferrarotti is located at the south-western end of Alta Langa (“high Langhe”), a large area of rolling landscapes, hazelnuts, vineyards, many authentic villages, fortresses and castles. Trips in this beautiful area are highly recommended, either by car or bicycle, preferably with breaks in the villages for a walk, a lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants serving local specialties. The many charming towns and very good wine producers in the area are well worth a visit. Barolo, which is both a village and one of the world's most famous wine regions, is only 20 minutes away by car. The equally famous wine region Barbaresco is also recommended.
