NEW FOR 2024, THERE IS AC FOR THE ENTIRE HOUSE AND A DISHWASHER Casa Coral is spacious, serene and you can hear the waves of Playa Carrillo. It is a short walk to restaurants and a supermarket. It has a great pool, huge porch, three hand-made cotton hammocks, beautiful gardens with tropical fruit and flowers, and wildlife. Large groups have plenty of space. There is a full-time caretaker in a separate apartment. He will respect your privacy, and he will attend to your day-to-day needs. The space There is a partial ocean view from the porch and garden, filtered through magnificent guanacaste trees. It is a three-minute walk to the sandy beach. Playa Carrillo is a spectacular 2-mile crescent. It has clean sand and water (blue flag certification) ringed by palm and almendro trees, with public picnic tables under the trees. Its natural beauty, without any beachfront development, distinguishes it from Samara and other beaches. It is perfect for families and couples. There are pushcarts that sell coconut water and shaved ice, but no other commerce. If you go early in the morning for a walk or swim, the beach is almost completely empty. There is usually a small group at sunset. At Casa Coral, you can relax on the porch, in the hammocks, or by the pool, surrounded by the tropical garden. The property and neighborhood are regularly visited by wildlife, including howler monkeys, tropical birds (including scarlet macaws), iguanas, etc. We supply a spotting scope with tripod. The property is over two-thirds of an acre (over 2,600 m2) and the house is over 3,200 square feet (over 300 m2). It is quite private, but everything is close by. It is a very short walk to seven local restaurants and a supermarket. The gardens have a nice variety of tropical fruits and flowers, and a small herb garden. All are available for your enjoyment. After dark, the pool and porch can remain lit for your enjoyment. If you turn off the lights, the stars are brilliant. The property includes use of a dishwasher, washer and dryer, several common areas to set up a laptop, excellent wi-fi, 65-inch smart tv with cable, bathroom supplies (shampoo, soap, toilet paper, towels and blow dryer), and beach towels. There are ample kitchen supplies (two full-sized refrigerator/freezers, a coffee maker, hot water kettle, pots, pans, knives, plates, glasses and some condiments) and a new Weber charcoal grill. There are a few books, games, pool toys and yoga mats available, and local cable tv. The master suite and 4th bedroom have private attached bathrooms. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom, and there is another full bathroom near the pool area. There is also an outdoor shower near the pool. The house emphasizes comfort, relaxation, privacy, nature and open space. All the rooms have 15-foot teak ceilings with fans. New in 2024, we have air-conditioning in the entire house, a dishwasher, new lounge chairs, a new refrigerator, upgraded hammocks and new windows and doors. Guest access You will have exclusive use of the entire house, pool and garden. There is a caretaker who lives in a separate apartment on the grounds. He will respect your privacy. Other things to note Playa Carrillo is quiet, safe and beautiful. The roads to Carrillo from Liberia airport are excellent. There are seven restaurants within walking distance, and we have never had a bad meal. We give restaurant and activity recommendations in our guidebook a week before your arrival. The local supermarket has all the essentials. Playa Samara (10-minutes by car, or longer by bus or foot) has more restaurants and shopping. In the local area you can find zip-lines, surf lessons, deep-sea fishing (marlin, tuna, mahi-mahi, sailfish, etc.), boat tours (whales and dolphins), beach horseback rides, guided nature walks, wildlife, shopping, Saturday Samara Feria (farmer's market), scarlet macaw preserve (but you need 4WD), gyrocopter, ATVs and kayak tours. You can also book airport transfers and tours to other areas. You do not need a 4WD vehicle for most activities, but if you want to explore remote towns, it is necessary.
