Quiet Family & Dog Friendly Lakefront Cottage

Welcome to our cottage! Our family cottage located in the municipality of the French River is where you'll find our modern and fully winterized home sitting on 2.5 acres of forest and lakefront. Our 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage is great for families or couples looking to enjoy some time away in Northern Ontario. Our cottage sits on a small and quiet lake, perfect for summer and winter activities (both indoor and outdoor). It's our home away from home and we hope you enjoy it! The space The space includes three bedrooms with two queen-size beds and one king-size bed. We also have a inflatable mattress and cot, if you have an extra person. Each room has their own heating and cooling systems that are remote-controlled for all guests. The main living/dining area is open concept and overlooks the lake, along with a wide deck for sitting out and enjoying the outdoors. If you have a dog, we have a small fenced-in yard on the side of the house which is accessed from the deck. We have two dogs and they love it. We also have an outdoor wood fired sauna and an above-ground pool for those who don't love lake water. The sauna is great in both winter and summer and we have plenty of firewood to keep it toasty! We also have a large open space in front of the cottage between the main home and lake. It's perfect for lawn games like spike ball, ladder ball, horseshoes, football, soccer, catch, etc. And in between you'll find our gazebo and firepit with chairs for sitting out and relaxing by the lake. Our lake is small and quiet, which is perfect for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and swimming. Or lazing around on a floaty all afternoon. Our lake does not allow for power boats or seadoos. Guest access As a guest, you'll have full access to the property. In the summer that includes the pool, gazebo, firepit, firewood, outdoor sauna, along with two kayaks, two paddle boards, a small boat and a floating dock. We also have a large garage with a ping pong table and other games (spike ball, catch, etc.). In the winter, you'll have access to the firepit, firewood, outdoor sauna and gazebo. If it's cold enough, you'll be able to get out onto the lake and make use of the ice pad that we clear off in January/February (weather pending). We have some extra pucks and sticks lying around for guests as well - just bring your skates! The property is great for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. You'll also find a number of snowmobile trails nearby - along with ice fishing one the lake freezes over. You can fish right off the dock! Other things to note The cottage is named "Camp Chugalu" after our two first dogs (Gus aka "Chug" and Luna aka "Lu"). While we are dog people, we keep our cottage clean to make sure the place is suitable for all guests.
