Courtyard behind the house. Perfect for children or dogs to go on adventure as it is right next to a beautiful forest. Fully equipped kitchen with additional entrance direct from outdoor seating area. A living room with balcony and generous seating and stunning views of the horse paddocks, the rose garden, the lake and in the horizon you see rolling hills of Pays d’Auge. An entrance hall with wardrobe. There are toilets on each floor. Bathroom with shower and bathtub is on first floor next to bedrooms. Towel warmer. Hair dryer. Iron. Plenty of clothing storage and hanging. High chair and baby cot available. Wi-Fi well suited for working. Private barbecue. Nespresso machine. During your stay you will feel close to nature; the sceneries, the sounds, the smells. We have many different kinds of plants, flowers and very old trees in the parc around the castle which dates back to the year 1852 and even earlier. Waterfall.. Horses.. Two cats and ducks… If you’re lucky you might see a dear or even a boar… There are several wonderful promenades on the property. It’s the perfect city escape and you will be able to reset your mind. You will find it peaceful, yet easy accessible (only few minutes after getting off the highway A13) with its perfect location for discovering France’s Flower Coast in the Golden Triangle of Calvados. Open for bookings all year around, with each season offering its own special charm. La Maison du Cavalier is designed as a peaceful retreat, a place to slow down, reconnect, and fully enjoy the calm atmosphere and surroundings. We’ve chosen not to install a TV so the space remains restful and free from background noise. Many guests appreciate the opportunity to read, cook, have long conversations, explore the area, or simply enjoy the quiet. Of course, Wi-Fi is available, so you’re welcome to stream on your own devices if you wish. Guest access La Maison du Cavalier is on the property of Château de l’Avenue (Château de Pierrefitte) Guests have their own private courtyard with lounge furnitures and a dining table, but you are welcome to enjoy the parc of the Château; the forest, the rose garden, the lake and riverside as well. Other things to note - Beds are prepared for you with fresh crispy bed linen and towels are provided for your stay. - You will find coffee and tea in the house. - We have stacked plenty of firewood behind the house that you are welcome to use in the fireplace. - Golf; there are several golf courses in the area. The closest one is Golf Barrière de Saint Julien, 8km away and you can see the property from the third hole! - Fishing; the river “Touques” is flowing through our property so as a guest you have fishing permission.
