The space High Standards We are rated as five star by the health inspectors of the Local Authority. History Mawdesley was created by a gift of land (ley) to Queen and Empress Mawd in the 12th century. She was a close descendant of William the Conqueror and Grandmother of Richard the Lionheart. She fought a civil war against King Stephen, which was eventually resolved by her son ascending to the throne as Henry the second, who ruled Britain and almost half of France and was the first of the Plantagenet line of kings. Amenities The accommodation is spacious and comfortable. We try to anticipate all the amenities you may need and make them available. The televisions are Sony and the range of entertainment facilities is first rate. Home Office facilities include a Computer Work Station, Good WiFi speed, Mouse, Keyboard and basic A4 paper supplies for small amounts of printing. The well-equipped kitchen and Utility Room includes amenities such as a Refrigerator, Freezer, Dishwasher, an Air Fryer, French Coffee Press, Smoothie maker, Juicer, Slow Cooked Casserole maker, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, Coffee and Spice Grinder, Garlic Press, Crockery, Pottery, Saucepans and Frying pans, Oven and Hob. Bathroom and personal care amenities include items such as Hairdryer, Toothbrush and shaver recharger, Shampoo, Conditioner, Hand Wash, Body Wash, Mouth Wash, Shaving Foam, Q-Tips and Deodorant. Examples of Laundry items are Washing Liquid, Fabric Softener, Stain Remover, bleach, Washer/Dryer and Iron. Amazon Fresh, Tesco and Morrisons, Deliver to this location. Safety items include Smoke Alarms, Carbon Monoxide Alarm, Fire Blanket and First Aid Kit. This is a functioning home, so please feel free to request any further conveniences you would expect to be available at home. Guest access You have your own private double Bedroom which is large enough for home office facilities. You also have access to a Bathroom, and extra toilet room, a Lounge, Kitchen, Garden and Parking. Additional spaces can be requested. During your stay I am available throughout your visit, though I am not intrusive. Other things to note We are perfectly located for hikes, fishing, horse-riding or leisurely walks down country lanes. The Guidebook shows some sites of local interest. Though we are located in beautiful countryside, we are only 10 minutes drive from the M6, making us a convenient place to stay during long journeys. The space is normally occupied by the host. On occasion, her son is in residence, and on rare occasions it is possible that another guest could be present in one of the other rooms.
