Description

A cozy house in a quiet sun-filled valley with enough shade from mature trees to provide coolness on hot days. The pool (open June - October) allows for refreshing dips on days when you just want to relax at the house. Within walking distance of the village, the house is completely private yet not isolated. Old Celleno's charming cafe/restaurant offers snacks, ice cream, aperitifs, and local cuisine made with local ingredients. New Celleno has a supermarket, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, etc. The space A cozy house in a quiet sun-filled valley with enough shade from mature trees to provide coolness on hot days. Within an easy 600 meter walk to the village, the house is completely private yet not isolated. A charming cafe in the village provides WIFI (and great coffee, artisinal ice cream, snacks, aperitifs). The pool allows for a refreshing swim on days when you opt to just relax around the house. A lovely two-storey stone country house an easy 90 minute drive from Rome. It is also possible to rent only the ground floor -- ideal for a couple -- at Euro 70 per night. Ideal for a vacation with children, the house is surrounded by undulating land, olive groves, and fruit trees -- a lot of outdoor space to run around and play. Three bedrooms: one large bedroom on the ground floor (with a queen-sized bed) and two on the second floor, including a master bedroom (queen-sized bed) and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. A full bathroom on each floor (both have showers, one also a bathtub), a large kitchen, including a dish washer and a washing machine. Tastefully furnished and outfitted with bed sheets, towels, etc. There is a large living room with a working fire place. Cozy. A large terrace that looks out on the medieval castle of Celleno has a long stone table that seats up to 12 people. There is an outdoor pizza oven and grill. Day trips to Rome, Orvietto, Viterbo, Florence, Assissi, Siena, Perugia, Civita di Bagnoregio, Montefiascone, Tuscania, etc. 20 minutes to the largest volcanic lake in Europe with its crystal clear water, lago Bolzena, as well as the Papal Spa -- Terme dei Papi -- in Viterbo. While Celleno has enough to keep you in food and drink -- a small but well stocked supermarket, a couple of butchers, a bakery, a pizza restaurant with a wood-burning oven, a couple of cafes -- you can also drive to Viterbo, Montefiascone or Bagnoregio for a bigger shop. These towns also have a satisfying number of very good restaurants. Our house combines country-house privacy and tranquility with a comfortable closeness to town. Depending on the time of year, our garden offers tomatoes, cherries, nuts, edible chestnuts, kaki, apples, pears, peaches and plums. You are welcome to eat them all!! The region is renown for its olive oil, and, if you wish, you can buy it directly from the locals to take home with you, at a very reasonable price. The whole house and surrounding garden and olive grove. Fields beyond the house. As much as the guests want to interact with me. I love that it is both completely private but not isolated, as the village of Celleno is within walking distance (under a kilometer). There is a public bus that one can take from the village of Celleno to the larger town of Viterbo (approximately 20 minutes) which has a train station. From there one can take a 90 minute train ride to Rome, for example. Trains come regularly and are inexpensive (under Euro 10 one-way ticket to Rome). Guest access Complete house, private pool, garden, fields and olive grove. Fields beyond the house. Depending on the time of year, fruit trees; walnut trees, edible chestnuts. Other things to note The best place to do a large shop is in the town of Viterbo, because it has a huge and very reasonably prices supermarket (Ipercoop) in a shopping center Centro Commerciale Tuscia). However, you can get all your basics in Celleno Nuovo (new Celleno) with an excellent butcher shop a few doors down from the post office (local meats, amazing steaks); a small but well stocked supermarket with a good selection of cheeses, prosciutti, fresh produce, bread, etc. Another store to buy food is next to the butcher near the postoffice, stocked with a good selection of basics, including fresh mozzarella, pasta, produce, and more. A pharmacy is located right next to the food shop. A small bakery is located right next to the sports bar on Via Roma, but it's best to get there early before they sell out. They have amazing pizza bianca! There are about four + hairdressers/barbers in the town, at last count. Registration Details I applied for a CIN, but haven’t received it yet
