In the charming, historic town of Aardenburg, just outside the bustling tourist area of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, you'll find ‘Het huis van Marietje’ (±1664). The monumental building is located next to the old city gate. The cozy guest room / holiday home overlooks a deep, walled medieval garden with its own open terrace. The excellent living kitchen (fully equipped) and the bedroom with comfortable beds are also perfect for a longer stay. The space Our space is divided into a living room with an open kitchen. The kitchen is excellently equipped, so you don't need to dine out every night. Home-cooking is the best and costs a bit less... Via the stairs, you reach the beautiful, authentic, quiet bedroom with a double bed (can be separated on request). There is good Wi-Fi and a TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime). Our guest room, the 'Garden Room,' is located on the quiet garden side of the house and has its own open terrace area with a dining table. The apartment has been completely renovated, fully newly furnished, and completed in November 2022. In Aardenburg, you can find the beautiful St. Bavo Church from 1130, and there are many traces of the Roman period. In the spring of 2022, the new Archaeological Museum will open. Once every two years, the bustling Art Biennale is organized, alongside many other activities. A Bakery, greengrocer, and three restaurants are within walking distance. Bruges, Damme, Sluis, Knokke, and also the unique nature reserve 'the Zwin' and the beach can be reached by car within 20 minutes. Don't forget to visit Ghent (40 min.). Aardenburg is located at a cycling and walking hub. IMPORTANT TO KNOW! The bedroom is only accessible via a (fairly) steep staircase. We do not recommend this space for people with limited mobility or those who prefer a toilet adjacent to the bedroom at night. We do not serve breakfast. We are required to charge a tourist tax: €2.50 per person, per day. Guest access You have access to our garden and the apartment as described. Our guests have their own access via the outer gate. Other things to note Remote check-in (corona) is available on request. After booking, please send a message or call to arrange this. Access to the bedroom is via a relatively steep staircase. People with limited mobility or those who need a toilet adjacent to the bedroom are advised to choose a different accommodation. To reach the toilet, it is necessary to use this staircase.
