Casa nas Pedras - Nossa Paz Farm

This is the main house of Sítio Nossa Paz, a large and very bright house, with large stones that integrate nature inside and outside, a large outdoor area and swimming pool, in a remote location, in the Mantiqueira mountains. Don't expect a conventional stay. But if you want to have the experience of being isolated in nature, in an unconventional house, enjoying the sun in the pool or the rain falling on the windows of the living room while warming up by the fireplace, this could be a good opportunity! The space This is the main house of Sítio Nossa Paz, where the owner of the ranch, Alexander, a retired USP professor, lover of nature and exotic buildings, mainly among the stones, lived. Alexander recently moved into a new “cave” still in the final stages of construction. The main house is large, spacious and very bright, with large stones that integrate nature inside and outside the house, a large outdoor area with 2 kennels, a barbecue and a swimming pool. The house has 4 bedrooms (1 suite) and an office with 1 more single bed, open-plan ground floor space, with equipped kitchen, dining table, fireplace, living room. The outdoor area also has a barbecue and a wood-burning stove that heats the water for the small bathtub in the upstairs bathroom. Rural Wi-Fi usually works well. The house is a great option for pets. The area around the house is large, all fenced in and with 2 small kennels. Because it has a wide open and flat area around it, you can enjoy watching the birds and trees safely and peacefully. Sítio Nossa Paz is in the Mantiqueira mountains, just 2 hours from the city of São Paulo. There are 100 hectares with a lot of reforested area, araucaria trees planted everywhere in the last 40 years, agroforestry spaces, orchard, blueberry plantation, lake, waterfall and a lot of wildlife (a jaguar was recently seen on the property - but don't be scared, it doesn't attack people). Alexander and his wife Vanuza will be available to welcome you, and the family of the caretakers who look after the ranch are also available for any needs. Here we do not welcome you as guests/customers, but as friends/visitors. What we want is to share our lifestyle and this wonderful land that has welcomed our family for 4 decades! Our satisfaction is knowing that visitors return home reinvigorated by nature, lighter, at peace, and healthier. It will be a pleasure to share this peaceful space with you! Guest access The place is free for sightseeing. In addition to the semi-Olympic swimming pool and the garden of the house itself, guests can swim in the lake, visit the waterfall, forest trails, agroforestry plantations, blueberry plantation, hikes to see the sunset in the mountains, drink water directly from the spring. Other things to note As you can see in the photos, large stones are part of the house's architecture. If you're not comfortable with this, this isn't the ideal place to stay. The staircase to the upper floor has no protection, only a handrail, so it may not be recommended for small children. The road to get there has its challenges. Although it is possible to arrive with any car, sometimes if it rains a lot, a 4x4 is better, but we have a tractor and pickup truck to help when necessary. Be aware of the necessary precautions in a nature lodging and come with a spirit of adventure away from the city. We ask that you bring your own bed and bath linens and hygiene items. We have some extra blankets.
