Bluebird Hideaway: A Private Treetop Retreat

Relax and recharge at Bluebird Hideaway! This ultra-private studio among the trees is an idyllic, sun-dappled retreat that has been outfitted with all the touches of home. Set far back at the end of a cul-de-sac, a DETACHED guesthouse awaits, with its own deck set high above a small creek. A fully stocked kitchen (with some local treats), mini-split heat & AC, strong fiber WiFi, and a washer & dryer are just a few of the many comforts. Only 10 minutes to Duke University and downtown Durham. The space The studio is located on the second story; you will need to climb about 15 stairs to access it. The space has been meticulously curated with you, our guest, in mind. Having been longtime Airbnb users (and frequently weary travelers) ourselves, we have tried to think of everything we've ever needed, so you will find thoughtful touches such as local coffee grounds and coffee brewing supplies, extra toiletries, and more. Our setup is ideal for travelers needing space for a few weeks or even a couple months. The complete kitchen with full-size fridge, dishwasher, and 4-burner range/oven makes this an ideal spot for extended stays as you can cook all of your favorite meals and limit your restaurant spending. It should also be said: ALL guests are welcome here, no matter who you are. We are happy you're here. Guest access Bluebird Hideaway is a separate guesthouse located on our property. You are free to come and go as you like, and won't have to pass through any of our personal space in the process. The first floor of Bluebird Hideaway is primarily used for storage, and we access that area as little as possible -- we value your peace and quiet! Other things to note We have a sweet 8 year old pup, Cosmo (40 pounds), who you may see in the yard from time to time. He loves meeting our guests, but there are gates that you may close if you prefer not to interact. Note that Cosmo is *not* allowed inside Bluebird Hideaway. There is NO smoking inside of Bluebird Hideaway, however, you may smoke on the deck OUTSIDE. We have specifically chosen not to put a TV in the space; in its stead, we hope to inspire moments of solitude, personal connection, and slowed time. That said, you can access WiFi to watch the streaming service of your choice on your laptop or tablet. The maximum number of guests allowed in any party is two. We apologize, but space constraints prevent us from making exceptions to this rule.
