Additionally, the Shelter Island Ferry is less than .5 miles away (perfect place to explore by bicycle) Winter Renters: We use and love the house in all seasons, and enjoy getting cozy by the living room working fireplace. However, the age of the house, tall ceilings, and many large beautiful windows do make it difficult to maintain high internal temperatures in extremely cold outside temperatures (~20 degrees and below).
