Cottage in Rhosfach
Description
A beautifully converted 5-star stone cottage with private wood-fired hot tub, wildlife-rich grounds with abundant birdlife, and real peace. Set on a quiet hobby farm at the end of a private drive, with no passing traffic. Thoughtfully designed privacy, lake walks and a calm setting that many guests return to. The space Beautifully renovated and modernised, the stone barn is comfortable and warm with an open plan feel and underfloor heating, so warm toes all the time :-) Enjoy the open plan living room, kitchen and dining area with a log burner, the space is social. The cottage is warm but also bright with barn doors and roof lights. We have worked hard to fit out the kitchen with everything you might need including lots of pots and pans, a knife block & sharpener, wok and plenty of crockery and glasses etc.. There is a full list available on our website. We have also invested in a proper Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother for the perfect Barista style feeling. We supply each guest a few freshly ground coffee capsules supplied by a local, award winning roasting house called Bay Coffee Roasters to ensure you have the best coffee buzz possible. We are very excited to be able to offer you raw pure honey directly from the farm and also we have just started producing our own gin, Golden Road, named after the pilgrimage route across the Preseli Hills just behind the farm. We are very excited to have been awarded a Great Taste award in our first year of production 2023. Golden Road gin is designed by us in collaboration with a local Award Winning Distillery. It is made with the best botanicals possible and has a light, refreshing feel with a rounded smooth finish. If you enjoy gin we would love to give you some to try. Although we are tiny and rural we are licensed because of the gin, so if you run low of wine or beer or would like to try our gin (we have some fabulous cocktail ideas), we can deliver to your door. Also available for our guests we have just started working with a fabulous local chef called Kate. We offer convenience without compromise dishes prepared with our organically raised beef along other ingredients so you can relax and not worry about having to cook. Simply order in advance or select from the freezer (we suggest you order ahead of time to avoid disappointment if possible) and an hour later you have piping hot, exceptional quality lunch or supper ready to enjoy. Choose from Boeuf Bourguignon, cottage pie, chicken and leek pie, fisherman's pie and vegan vegetable chilli. With over 50, 5* reviews online we are passionate about ensuring all our guests have a truly relaxing, restorative and fabulous time whilst they are with us. The farm itself is a hobby endeavour, we have pigs in the summer, Belted Galloway cows and a small lake stocked with carp. You are welcome to fish but we can't guarantee you'll make a catch :-) You are invited to have a paddle in the row boat too. There is space and peace. A few paths to wander around and a bench by the lake to just sit and enjoy nature. The dragonflies are absolutely fabulous in the summer. The fridge is in the cottage, the freezer is situated in the laundry shed a few steps outside your cottage along with washing machine, iron etc.. You have a Netflix enabled TV and DVD player with lots of films to choose from should you wish. Step outside one of your back doors (there are 2) and you are on your patio with outside dining table and a stone path to your hot tub which is refilled with fresh spring water from under the farm for each guest. The hot tub is heated naturally via a wood burning furnace attached. We provide a dustbin of wood (you can purchase more should you wish) so you can enjoy a steamy soak in chemical free water when you like. Please note heating takes between 3 and 4 and a half hours depending on the temperature outside. In addition to your private garden there is a shared area with campfire and wooden benches. Other things to note The Byre is part of a small, quiet hobby farm rather than a completely isolated location. Privacy has been carefully designed using stone walls and established planting, and most guests comment on how peaceful it feels. The wood-fired hot tub is filled with fresh spring water for each stay and heated using a wood-burning furnace. Heating typically takes between 3 and 4½ hours depending on outdoor temperature, and an initial supply of logs is provided. We’re in a rural setting, around 1.8 miles from the nearest village shop and 20 minutes from Newport Sands beach. The cottage is just 15 minutes north of Narberth — a bustling market town with cafés, galleries and independent shops — and provides a wonderful base to explore Pembrokeshire’s coastline and countryside. Dogs are welcome, and the cottage is maintained to a consistently high standard of cleanliness. Set on the edge of the Preseli Hills, the cottages offer a peaceful base for exploring Pembrokeshire. You’re well placed for hill walks, country lanes and wildlife-rich countryside, while also being within easy reach of beaches, coastal paths, villages and market towns across the county.
