The Fox House: Friends and Family Retreat with Game Room, Pool Table, Volleyball

Description

Come experience the Fox House - located on a peaceful 1 acre lot in the Casas Adobes area of Tucson. This renovated vintage home is perfect for families, friends, and groups seeking comfort and connection. Enjoy a modern layout mixed with just enough history and character to make it interesting! Guests love the true desert experience with our native cacti and plants in the huge backyard. Enjoy the game room, volleyball court, and a BBQ patio. A comfortable home base to truly enjoy Tucson. The space The Fox House is located in a safe, quiet northwest neighborhood. It is designed to honor the hosts' grandparents (the Foxes) who owned the home for 56 years and were huge Tucson enthusiasts. The Fox House features: SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS (4 BEDROOMS) Comfort and cleanliness is our priority. We thoroughly wash all bedding—including quilts and spare blankets—between every stay so you can snuggle up with confidence. • Desert Sky Suite: King bed, ensuite bathroom, TV, sliding door leads to back patio and porch swing, room darkening curtains • Gem & Mineral Room: Queen bed, workstation, TV, room darkening roller shades • Navajo Room: Queen bed, room darkening roller shade • Fox Den: Two twin beds, bookshelf with picture books and chapter books, room darkening roller shades BATHROOMS • 2 full bathrooms in the main house- the showers have dual shower-heads with handheld sprayers. • 1 half bath adjoins the game room- this bathroom is part of the laundry room and has a sink and toilet for the convenience of guests enjoying the game room and backyard. KITCHEN • Fully equipped with cookware and essentials for meal prep including a blender, KitchenAid, Instant Pot, toaster, griddle, baking sheets, children's dishware, and more. • 3 coffee makers- 1 small drip pot, 1 large drip pot, 1 k-cup, and an electric kettle • Large dining area—great for shared meals and game nights LIVING ROOM • Comfortable living room with a reclining loveseat, a 10-foot long couch, TV, and an antique piano. • Huge picture window that faces the mountains. GAME ROOM • Pool table that converts to a ping pong table, foosball, TV, games, books • Located in a converted workshop/garage, so has a more rustic feel – a perfect place for kids to play and make a little noise away from the main part of the house • The game room does not have heat or cooling. We do have a small wall-mounted space heater and a large ceiling fan, but this room can still get chilly in the winter and hot in the summer. OUTDOOR SPACE • Gorgeous views of Pusch Ridge • Backyard set up for relaxing and outdoor dining • Propane grill for easy family meals • Small volleyball/badminton court (24’ x 36’) • 4 large rocking chairs on the porch, 2 hanging chairs, and a porch swing • Wrought-iron patio table with 4 chairs and umbrella (stored in the laundry room to protect from elements) • Young lemon, orange, and grapefruit trees in the yard - citrus is usually ripe in January/February. Feel free to eat the fruit off the tree if you happen to be staying while there is some to enjoy! • The house is surrounded by almost an acre of land that is unmaintained desert. We have one close neighbor on one side of the house, and visible neighbors on all sides, a but the house has a general feeling of space and seclusion. SEASONAL POOL ACCESS • Private neighborhood pool available approximately mid-May until mid-October • Pool access is optional and must be requested in advance • An electronic waiver is required before receiving the pool key NEIGHBORHOOD • The house is in a quiet neighborhood. Residents commonly go on morning and evening walks with their pets past the house. There is a school at the end of the road, so there is some traffic during drop-off and pick-up times. We are just around the corner from Tohono Chul Botanical Garden. Many guests have found the Fox House to be a great home base for weddings held at Tohono Chul. There are fabulous restaurants, a Whole Foods, and a Walmart Neighborhood Market all within a couple driving minutes from the Fox House. We've truly worked to make this feel like a clean and comfortable home away from home for families and friends - less like a stuffy luxury escape, more like a happy spot where you feel welcome and at ease. We're committed to help you feel that way throughout the duration of your time in here. We like to consider guests part of the "Fox House Family" once they have come to stay. We strongly value mutual respect and honesty in all communications. The home is a good spot for relaxation, convenience, exploration, and connection during your trip to Tucson. Guest access Entire property with the exception of a storage shed in the backyard and a labeled storage room adjacent to the game room. The water heater closet in the hallway is used for storage and is for staff-only. There is ample parking in front of and on the side of the house. Season pool access requires requesting and signing a waiver in advance. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE when deciding if the Fox House is a good fit for you: NO SMOKING, VAPING, OR DRUGS OUTSIDE OR INSIDE THE PROPERTY: This isn't just a rental property for us- we come and stay often with our own family, and we have family members sensitive to smoke and strong smells. If you want to indulge in smoking or vaping, this is not the property for you. Breaking this rule will result in us asking you to vacate the property immediately and forfeit the cost of your reservation. NO PARTIES OR SPORTS TEAMS: We have a great relationship with the Fox neighbors and want to keep it that way. This is a quiet neighborhood, and we will strictly enforce the rule to only have approved guests on the property, even if they are just coming to visit during the day. PARKING: Our garage was converted into the awesome game room, so while there is ample parking in the driveway, there is no covered parking. Guests typically park in the gravel driveway in front of the house, but if you prefer your vehicle more tucked away, there is a small paved driveway on the side of the house by the game room. BABIES AND CHILDREN: We love little travelers! While we do provide child friendly accommodations, our home is not child-proofed. Parents must supervise their children at all times. We have dishes for children, but for safety reasons we do not provide a pack-n-play or highchair. THE DESERT: We love to roam through the desert on the property and hope you do too! However, please note that we do not manicure or maintain the portion of the property beyond the wall- it is truly a wild desert experience. You are likely to encounter snakes, coyotes, or other wildlife, so do not let children roam unsupervised. PETS: No pets of any kind - homeowners have pet allergies. SECURITY CAMERAS: For the safety of our guests and our property, we have working security cameras at the front entrance facing the sidewalk, backyard facing the yard, front yard facing the driveway, and side yard facing the driveway/trash cans. They are motion activated and record video and audio. There are NO cameras in the house or game room. For safety reasons, do not tamper with the security cameras. BUGS: Arizona has a lot of bugs. We do have regular pest control treatments, but some bugs may still find their way into the house. We encourage guests to close doors whenever possible to prevent bugs from entering the house, particularly in the spring and following any sort of rain. SHOES: Because Arizona has a lot of dust and the house is surrounded by desert, we recommend (and kindly request) that you keep shoes off in the house as much as possible to avoid tracking dust and dirt throughout the house. One interesting benefit of this dusty desert environment is that the extra particles in the air are one contributing factor to Arizona's magnificent sunsets! POOL: We have seasonal access to a small neighborhood pool just down the street and around the corner from the house. It takes approx. 5-10 minutes to walk to the pool and a couple of minutes to drive. The pool is kept locked and in order to obtain the key, guests will need to fill out an electronic waiver agreeing to all HOA rules associated with the pool. Only guests who are registered to stay overnight at the Fox House will be allowed access to the pool. Please reach out ahead of time if you are interested in using the pool. It is open approximately May 20-October 25. CHECK OUT: We try to be flexible when we can with check-in and check-out times. Please message us with inquiries! We want the check-out experience to be as simple for you as possible and don't want any surprises. We simply ask that you load and start the dishwasher if you have time, and please take any garbage to the outside trash cans (located just outside the game room) before you leave. Please leave the house in good condition, but our amazing cleaners will take care of all laundry and scrubbing. Let us know if you have any concerns! Feel free to reach out with any questions about the Fox House - we are so excited to have you come and stay! AZ TPT LICENSE #21512819
