The Rookery is a well located private space with stunning South-facing views across an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An ideal base to explore countryside & coast, ancient forests & villages, historic castles, famous beaches and cosy local pubs. Just 15 min to Sissinghurst Castle & garden, Bodiam & Scotney Castle, 20 min to Rye & 30 min to the dunes & beach at Camber. Explore local walks, Go Ape at Bedgebury Forest, paddleboarding & watersports or tour our local wineries. The space ‘The Rookery’ (named after the rookery in the trees across the valley) is a newly built larch-clad guesthouse on the site of the original stable block for Mill Street House. The main space consists of a large open-plan living area with dining and kitchenette - comprising oven, hob, fridge, microwave and toaster - as well as sofas & TV. It is light, airy and comfortable with incredible unbroken views across the valley through the large glass sliding doors. There is one bathroom with a large walk-in rain shower, WC and sink. There is also a washing machine for guest use. The main (blue) bedroom has a large king-size bed, and hanging space for clothes. The second (yellow) bedroom has a double bed and hanging space for clothes. Welcome! Guest access The main entrance is via a door at the back of the building - it is the one with a glass panel each side. Once inside, there are large sliding glass doors across the room which lead to a decked terrace and steps down to a patio both of which are for your exclusive use. Guests have access throughout the inside of the building, which consists of a large living area, two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The main garden of Mill Street House is private. Guests have access to the decked area, patio and surrounding grassy area directly in front of The Rookery building. Guests may also access the field to the left of the drive as you look out, although if there are sheep in the field please could you ensure gates are shut at all times. Please note that the external door at the end of the building is for a private office with no guest access, and this office is occasionally in use during weekdays, most often Fridays.
