It's hard to find a more prime location than this private downtown loft. It's rumored that Thomas Jefferson even stayed here. Loaded with the beautiful, historic charm of brick walls, high ceilings, and hardwood floors, this space has all the new modern amenities you desire. Located on the corner of 12th and Main Street across from the community market, it is in the center of everything downtown with river views and steps away from dining, shopping and walking trails. The space This historic loft used to be home to “Cross Keys Tavern." The building was originally constructed in 1804, with additions made in 1890, as a restaurant with lodging. It had been set to be torn down in the 1960's, but was saved as it is one of the oldest and most historic buildings in Downtown Lynchburg. The building was again slated for demolition in the early 1990s when current owners bought and historically renovated it. This open concept, second floor historic space includes a comfortable living area with a sleeper sofa, recliner and accent chair, large screen TV w/ Roku, and lots of natural light. Guests can park in our designated parking space #11( check the pictures) and then explore downtown and walk to restaurants. One dog are welcome for a $70 non-refundable pet fee. No cat allowed-Allergies. Throughout your stay maintain cleanliness of our home inside and out with regards to your pet’s activities. Please, no paws on the furniture and bed spreads and do not use the bath linens to clean your furry friends. Dog can’t sleep on the bed or sectional sofa. You need to bring his/her bed with you:) They may not be left unattended in the house unless they are crated. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog when you make your reservation. The newly renovated kitchen includes a full size refrigerator, oven, stove, sink, microwave and dishwasher. It's stocked with everything needed to cook meals or store leftovers. The desk area includes a snack basket and place where guests can work. Tucked away in a closet just off the kitchen is the laundry room. Detergent is provided for guests who would like to do laundry during their stay. Sitting in front of beautiful historic brick on the back wall of the loft is the luxurious queen bed with layers and layers of bedding you can get lost in. Next to the bed is a sound machine for our light sleepers. And just a few steps away from the bed is the private full bathroom which includes a wide garden tub with a shower, toilet, vanity w/ sink, and all the amenities a tired traveler might need. Central heat and air keep the loft cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Towels and sheets are provided. Potential of noise specially on weekend, we have a bar a cross the street. We are in downtown that is not quiet. One Parking Space Guest access There are 2 ways to access the loft. The main entrance is up one flight of metal stairs. It has an August Keyless Lock on the door, which will give guest access during their stay. The 2nd entrance is up two flights of stairs in the back of the building off the parking lot, which you can access once you check-in. Other things to note One dog is welcome for a non-refundable $70 pet fee. No cat. Potential of noise specially on weekend, we have a bar a cross the street. We are in downtown that is not quiet. $300 deodorizing fee applies for smoking inside. Hair Dyes, and other treatments: No hair dye in the loft ($200 fee for stained towels, linen or damaged bathtub/shower). - If guests are found to have had a party, guests will be responsible for an extra charge of $500 and guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately.
