Cotswold Pool House

The Pool House is a self contained annexe for 2 in the historic Cotswold market town of Fairford with a comfy king sized bed and large ensuite shower room. Bifold doors open directly onto the private patio area, with pool, heated in summer months. A short walk into town with its shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and located within the Cotswold Water Park, it's a perfect base from which to explore nearby Cotswold villages and attractions, or enjoy a walk or a cycle from the doorstep. The space The Pool House is a recently refurbished studio annexe in the grounds of our traditional Cotswold home. It provides a light and airy place to stay, perfect for couples looking for an idyllic Cotswold getaway. Across the courtyard from our main home, The Pool House has its own separate entrance via a single step up from the large gravel driveway which provides parking for up to 2 cars directly outside your accommodation. There is also flat access via the poolside bifold patio doors which can be accessed via the wrought iron gate at the top of the driveway which leads to the patio area and swimming pool. What sets the Pool House apart is that you can enjoy sole, rather than shared, use of our outdoor pool whilst at the property, heated during summer months (May - early Sept) by an air source heat pump. The owners will not use the pool while you are on site. The studio contains a king sized bed, made up with white Egyptian cotton bed linen and a very comfortable pocket sprung mattress. The wooden painted wardrobe, chest of drawers, shoe rack and metal coat hooks offer ample storage. There is also an outdoor boot stand for wellies or walking boots and lockable bike storage in an adjacent outbuilding can be provided on request. The kitchenette is equipped with an integrated slimline dishwasher, fridge with top freezer compartment, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine, along with a kettle and toaster. Tea, coffee and sugar are supplied and a selection of welcome treats and snacks to greet you on your arrival. There's also a BBQ and utensils, strictly for outdoor use only. The Pool House has 2 comfortable bucket chairs and a small round dining table along with a separate breakfast bar and stools which serves as a workspace if required. Wifi, a 32 inch smart TV and a bluetooth speaker are all available. A large tiled en-suite shower room with power shower, toilet and basin along with an electric shaving point and complementary toiletries completes the indoor accommodation. Patio furniture includes 2 adjustable sun loungers, a table and chairs, an umbrella and an outdoor sofa. There is a large container for the outdoor cushions which we kindly ask you to store away overnight or in wet weather. The patio area has wall lights and outdoor power switches and there is table tennis, with bats and balls provided. The electrically operated pool cover is closed overnight to reduce heat loss and minimise environmental impacts. Usual open times are 8am-8pm, although you are welcome to request alternatives. It would also be appreciated if you can let us know of any days or times you do not plan on using the pool, as having the cover on at these times helps to keep the pool clean and maintain heat. It is a below ground, tiled, chlorinated pool with a shallow and deep end and is cleaned regularly between guests. We ask that guests respect the pool rules at all times. Guest access You will have sole use of studio, patio area and pool while at the property. The patio area is walled and topped with attractive bespoke iron fencing and gates separating the patio area from the owners private garden. We can provide bike storage in a lockable adjacent outbuilding and a pod point at the far end of the driveway if overnight EV charging (additional cost) is required, both by separate arrangement. The owners will not routinely use the gravelled courtyard for their own vehicles, but may occasionally walk across, if needing to access outbuildings or use the pod point. Use of the owners garden beyond the gated pool patio area is not included. Other things to note The Pool House is available for over 21’s only and we are unable to accommodate children, including babies. As we have our own dogs, it’s not possible to bring your own pets to stay. Whilst a pet free rental, we would like you to make you aware of our dogs. The patio and pool area are fenced and gated meaning they should not disturb you in your accommodation, but you may see or hear them in the main garden.
