Basecamp Durango Cabin - near town *dog friendly*

Nestled into 11 acres of ponderosa pines, Durango Basecamp Cabin provides you the serenity of mountain living combined with the ease of accessing all that Durango has to offer in 10min. The Loft encompasses a cozy mountain cabin feel with modern updates and easy access to some of Southwest Colorado's best attractions. Marked trails weave around the property for early morning coffee walk or a moonlit snowshoe - courtesy snowshoes are available for guests. Deer frequent the property as well. The space The original structure was a Log Cabin, lived in full time by the original family while they built the main house in the mid 1970's. The Cabin now serves as a detached garage, with the back of the structure and the entire upstairs fully renovated into a tasteful Cabin Studio Loft. Updated with sustainability in mind, beetle kill pine lines the ceiling and floor, reclaimed lumber accents pair with new concrete counter tops to add a modern rustic touch to the original Log Cabin. The loft upstairs includes a Queen bed and Queen pull-out sofa and optional Twin pull out sofa downstairs. Ideal for couples at the base cost, it can accommodate small families with young kids for additional charge of $10/night. With an upstairs work space, in unit washer/dryer, and well-stocked kitchenette, it is the perfect Basecamp for a couple, small family, or friends getaway! A large private deck out back provides back door access via a lighted walk way to the private entrance. With views of the pines and mountain ridge lines provides a relaxing outdoor space to our guests, while only minutes from the amenities of town. Guest access Guests have coded access to the apartment. There is ample parking in the circle driveway as well. We welcome well behaved dogs to our property for a one time fee of $75. Out of respect for our home and other guests, we ask that they remain off the furniture (unless it is covered) and adequately supervised at all times to avoid additional cleaning or pet damage fees. The property has 2 trails that combine for approximately 0.5mi and a large backyard fire pit area (having fires in the fire pit are dependent on local forest fire risk at the time of visit). Our family resides in the main house, also listed as Basecamp Durango, which is open to guests when we are out adventuring. The outdoor areas (except the Cabin’s private deck) are shared with our family and friends. Other things to note Bedroom studio and primary living area are located upstairs, while kitchen area, bathroom, and small living area are downstairs on the entry level. Please keep this in mind when booking if anyone in your group has mobility difficulties, as it is not easily accessible for older dogs, toddlers, or adults with mobility concerns due to the stairs.
