WHAT PEOPLE LOVE We have tried to think of everything you will need to relax while you are on vacation. Here is what guests have said that they love most about staying in this cottage: - The most spectacular sea views from the house and terrace. Watching the sun rise from your bedroom window or the crashing waves right outside in the winter! - Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. - Enjoying breakfast on the terrace whilst watching the fishing boats in the harbour and later a glass of wine with a BBQ and then marshmallows on the fire pit. - Good Wi-Fi - Warm cozy sitting room with log burner (wood and kindling supplied for your first night Nov - March inc and further supplies are available from the nearby well stocked Texaco garage you pass entering the village). - Well-equipped kitchen. - Large terrace with your own delineated space, comfortable seating for eating al fresco looking directly out to sea. - Wonderful local walking, both on cliff tops and easier paths inland. - A short walk to the Ship Inn - very welcoming, beer garden and good pub food. - Proximity to famous gardens to visit, Eden Project, Heligan, Trellissick, Trebah etc. Holidays matter! So we want to make sure that we are a perfect fit for your requirements. If we can provide you with any other information, please just message us. FAQ’s Is there a TV? - We have decided not to provide a TV as the feedback from previous guests has been that they really like the idea of a retreat and if they want to watch a film they can bring an iPad or laptop. Is the terrace exclusively for us? - The terrace is shared but it is large and on different levels so there is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space to eat or to sit and relax. There is also more space and a wonderful double rocking chairs on the lower level between the cottages and the sea that you are welcome to use. Is there a village shop? - Sadly we no longer have a permanent village shop. However there is a very well-stocked Texaco garage shop 5 minutes by car and all the major supermarkets - Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Asda all deliver to Portloe. Can I park outside the cottage? - The cottage is set away from any roads so there is no private parking directly outside the cottage. However, guests may park on the adjacent Lugger Hotel car park to unload upon arrival. Cars may not be left there overnight but driven to the public car park 3 minutes away (£2 per 24 hours/£1 overnight or £10 per week). Walking up to the car park involves a walk up an incline and some steps. Is the property suitable for young children? We can provide a travel cot and a high chair for our younger guests but please be aware that the outside space is not fully enclosed and there are unfenced cliff paths beside the property so young children will need to be properly supervised. Guest access We like to welcome our guests in person, giving a hand with luggage and quickly showing you how everything works so that you can immediately make yourselves at home. Otherwise we operate a self check-in with a key available from a coded lock-box on arrival. Limited free parking is available either on the village harbour or the road (overnight only in the summer). Alternatively the village car park is available for which there is a charge of £2 a day paid into an honesty box. On arrival guests may unload on the Lugger Hotel car park but space is limited and cars can not be left there overnight. Other things to note The village car park is a few minutes walk away and involves some steps and an incline. Children must be supervised outside at all times due to unfenced cliff paths.
