Jungle Beach Cottage
Our cute casita is situated in a large garden beside a river. You can walk to Marsella beach (10 min.) or Maderas beach (20 min.), where you have great surf. You can listen to the birds and howler monkeys, relax in your hammock on the patio, and look at the Guanacaste trees in the garden. It is 10 min. to San Juan del Sur: you can already use the new road, the Costanera, that is being built. We have a pickleball court on the property with a garden cafe; you can rent the court to play. The space The casita is situated on a property of 4.000 m2 (one acre) where we, the hosts, live too. Plants are marking the borders of the houses, so we all have our privacy. The casita has it's own patio and garden. For safety, we have a fence, dogs, and metal bars in front of all the windows and doors. Nicaragua is very safe, but we do want to prevent break-ins. We hardly have neighbours, and there are lots of trees surrounding us. It is lovely and rural here. You can walk, cycle and drive around here, go to the beaches, it's very lovely. The casita has a large double bed, fan, fridge, stove, shower and toilet. Then there is a table with chairs and cupboard. Electricity and drinking water are included in the price. The water coming out of the tap is drinking water. You can use the washing machine for a small amount. Wifi is good. The dogs on the property are friendly. They walk around freely on and around the property. Please bring mosquito repellent or a travel mosquito net; there can be mosquitos especially during rainy season. There's a mini superkarket (Aloha) closeby, and also a nice cafe (Machete). Guest access You have access to the casita, the patio on the back side of the casita, and your private garden, bordering on the patio of the casita, all the way up to the main gate. Other things to note There are two roads leading to the casita: one that crosses the river and that leads to Maderas Beach, and one that leads to the Chocolata Road where you can go to the town of San Juan del Sur. During rainy season or when the tides at sea are high, the river can get high. During these days it is difficult to pass the river. When the river is very high, there can be crocodiles: do NOT go into the river. If you want to go to Maderas beach and the river is high, then you can go via the other road. You can always walk to Marsella Beach; you do not need to cross the river.
