In the Šumava region, at the foot of Mount Bobík, in a meadow, lived an old German caravan. She lived well, because it was a hideaway for many creatures. Not only children, but also helpers, friends, and random wanderers were happy to rest here in Grandma's quilts. No one expected excessive comfort here, but a cozy place where the soul can catch up with the body and the mind, two friends who are always in a hurry. There is a kitchenette, something to read, board games, wooden blocks for the little ones and much more... Rest under Bobík :) The space The trailer is simple but cozy; see photos. We are connected to electricity (convection oven, induction stove, refrigerator, outlets and lights are functional and available). But there is also a wood-burning stove in the trailer, so romance and techno songs by the departing greats of the Šumava are guaranteed (fallen trees, fire in the stove). You will have to go to the well for drinking and utility water. But I'll bring you at least the first 20 litres in a stainless steel jug... The dishes are washed under utility water from the barrel above the sink. This water can be refilled at a spring 30 metres away. We used to drink the water, but there is no analysis of it, and after examining the source, we only use it for utility purposes. The toilet is designed as a cabin with a bucket that I take out regularly. I don't want to make a hole in the ground on the property, mainly because I can't control the waste that is generated when someone throws sanitary pads or condoms down the toilet :( Guest access The shepherd's hut itself can't be reached by car. You can park about 100 meters from the shepherd's hut, then you have to bring your luggage to the place. There is an overgrown path and then climbs about 40 meters down a sloping meadow. Can be barefoot or in boats, but better comfortable athletic shoes are a good fit... There are very steep steps into the shepherd's hut itself. For some, this entry may be challenging. Other things to note Cows and sheep may graze around the shepherd's hut, hence the shepherd's hut area is fenced. You will be staying in the Šumava Protected Landscape Area, so be alert! There are many animals, wildlife, flowers, trees, elves, forest spirits, and other protectors around. Dwarves are the worst! Watch out for them!!! Cherish the place, just like we do. Don't throw away trash; clean yourself and your surroundings! Listen, wash with water, and breathe in the scent.
