Description

Experience Flørli 4444 on a shoestring and enjoy a stay on our idyllic camping by the fjord! We built a 4 person tent for you on demand – just book it here and move right in! We have two of these tents. The tent stands on the flat, open field right next to the fjord. Wake up to an amazing view! The tents are recommended for up to 3 adults. They are fitted with a ground sheet and simple insulation mattrasses. You can rent sleeping bags with hygienic inliner at an additional charge (135kr pp). The space The hamlet of Flørli is uniquely located in the middle of the Lysefjord, right in between Preikestolen and Kjerag, two of Norway's prime natural attractions. Main attraction in town is the giant stairway with its 4444 steps right up the mountain - the world's longest wooden stairway. The stairs were built in conjunction with the hydropower plant from 1916 down by the fjord. The now historic plant is no longer operative, but holds the reception, a summer-open café and a kiosk. Here you can also visit the exhibition about the Flørli history and see an old hydropower turbine and the control room. Flørli during summer is a bustling tourist attraction and you will enjoy the best of it, staying in this nice villa with its great view. It is important to realise however that Flørli is a secluded place accessible by ferry only. You should come here to relax, enjoy the natural beauty, hike, fish and do day excursions around the fjord :-) Guest access There are a summer-open restaurant/café in Flørli and an the historic hydropower station from 1916 which has a free exhibition you can visit. Of course you should also hike the 4444 stairs and the amazing Cliffhike and Fosshike. Really, you need three days here if you want to see it all! Camping guests have free access to a shower and toilets, there is open wifi available as well as well as a water point and a fire place. Please note that camping guests do not have access to a kitchen. Note that camping in Flørli is for tents only. You can bring your car and park it on the guest parking at the quay. It's only 200 metres to the camping from there and we have trolleys to use. If you have your own tent and just want to camp, not rent a tent, just show up at any time and report in the reception/café. Other things to note Please have a good look at ferry times before booking - see the official Flørli/Florli site. We advise you to book the ferry in advance so you're assured a place. Guests who miss the ferry and who do not show up for whatever other reason are not entitled for reembursement. Kjerag and Preikestolen are best visited during the week due to ferry logistics. Yes, there is free internet available inside and outside the reception/café. Note that rental of sleeping bag with hygienic inliner (135kr pp) and breakfast (165r pp) are optional extras and not included in your booking. If you would like to book these, send us a message.
