The residence is located about 30 minutes from Tromsø Airport, in the direction of Sommarøy. Car is recommended! The home is in scenic surroundings, so that nature experiences such as the northern lights, mountain trips or just a quiet evening around the campfire on the terrace can be enjoyed. The annex is tastefully decorated with a cozy atmosphere and gives you a feeling of home away from home. Sleeping arrangements: The annex has a comfortable family bunk bed with warm and good bed linen. You will definitely get a good night's sleep after a day of exploration and adventure. Bathrooms: The bathroom is fully equipped with a shower, toilet, sink and washing machine. Towels are included for your convenience. Kitchen facilities: The annex has a spacious kitchen area with a fridge, freezer, microwave, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker and kettle. This makes it easy for you to prepare a good breakfast or delicious meals. There is also a dining area where you can enjoy your meals. Living area: In the living room area you will find a comfortable sofa and a TV with access to Chromecast streaming. This is the perfect place to relax after a day of activities. Other things to note Important information for tourists renting a vehicle in winter Driving in Norway during winter presents additional challenges. As a driver, you are responsible for safe driving and can be held accountable for reckless behavior. Key safety guidelines: Clear visibility and headlights: Ensure all windows are free of ice. Your rental car should include an ice scraper. Headlights must be on at all times. Use high beams in darkness but dim them for oncoming traffic. Right-side driving: Norwegian roads are driven on the right. Snow may obscure lane markings-use plowed edges as a reference. If unsure, do not continue driving. Safe lane usage: Swerving or crossing into oncoming traffic is dangerous, illegal, and can lead to prosecution. The right-hand rule applies unless indicated otherwise. Slow driving and speed limits: Pull over if you cause a queue (2-3 cars behind you). Use rearview mirrors to monitor traffic buildup. Adjust speed according to road conditions, even when limits are posted. Braking & control: Ice and snow increases braking distance. Keep a safe distance, avoid sudden steering, acceleration, or braking to prevent loss of control. Photo stops: Use designated parking areas. Stopping in turns, on hills or on busy roads is strictly prohibited. Hazard lights must not be used for taking pictures. Mobile devices & GPS: Handheld phone and other digital advices used while driving is illegal. Do not rely solely on GPS-use road signs and your own judgment. Alcohol limit: 0.2% blood alcohol concentration. In Case of an Emergency: • Call 112 (police) or 113 (ambulance). • Turn on hazard lights and wear a reflective vest when exiting the vehicle. • Place a warning triangle behind your car. It is usually stored in the trunk. • If roadside assistance is needed, contact your rental company or a service provider. • Check weather and road conditions before departure. Additional Important Information: The police can seize your driver's license if they deem your winter driving skills inadequate. Your license will be sent to your embassy in Oslo, and appealing may not be possible before leaving Norway. In severe cases, a visa revocation and deportation may occur.
