Atmospheric wilderness cabin near the peaks of Koli

Enchanting Koli invites you! An atmospheric small wilderness cottage in the forest near the peaks of Koli. The cottage has a sauna and wood heating. Sleeping space in the loft (2 people) and downstairs (sofa bed/2 people). Close to Koli National Park, ski trails, Koli Spa, Koli ski slopes, Pielinen and Issikkavaellustalli. Water for the sauna is carried from the well, drinking water must be brought by yourself. Charging your phone with a solar panel. There is no other source of electricity in the cabin. The space This wilderness cabin is especially suitable for wilderness lovers who appreciate their own peace and the authentic atmosphere of a wilderness cabin. The cottage is located in the middle of the forest. The cabin has a sauna, a loft (mattresses on the loft), a kitchenette and a small living area. The sauna is heated with wood and the washing water is obtained by carrying it from the well. NOTE! The well water is very clean for washing, but the color is the color of bog water (slightly brown) because the water comes from a bog area. It is a good idea to bring your own drinking water. In the living room there is a sofa bed and a linen cabinet with blankets and pillows. There are 4 blankets and 4 pillows in the cottage. In addition, there are mattresses in the attic. Remember to bring your own bed linen and towels. Other essentials such as toilet paper, soap, shampoo, hair conditioner are in the cottage. In the kitchen area, there is a gas stove and oven for cooking, as well as a dining table and a cupboard. The cupboard has pots, frying pan, drinking glasses, plates, coffee cups and cutlery. In addition, the kitchen has coffee, tea, sugar and a few spices (salt and pepper) and cooking oil. Pets have their own food and water bowls in the cottage. The yard has a beautiful and spacious outdoor toilet, as well as a log shed and a dog fence. The cottage terrace has terrace furniture (sofa and 2 armchairs and a table). The terrace also has a kettle grill. The cottage's lighting works with atmospheric battery-powered lanterns. The yard is very quiet, no line of sight to the neighbors. The cottage is heated with wood using an easy-to-use stove. Please note that in winter, in cold weather, you may need to add wood to the stove 1-2 times at night to keep the cabin warm. In summer, it is good to remember to close the door behind you, because mosquitoes are part of the Finnish summer! There are mosquito repellents in the cabin. Good berry forests next to the wilderness cabin. The illuminated ski trail is conveniently accessible from the cottage by skiing about 500 meters. About 1.5 km to the center of Koli, where there is a shop. Plenty of activities within a short distance, e.g. ski trails, ski slopes, spa, snowmobile safaris, hiking trails, Pielinen beaches and tasty eateries. Guest access The entire cottage is at the disposal of the guest. Check-in after 5 pm. Check-out no later than 3 pm. Other things to note Please leave the cottage in a clean condition for the next guest. Your own garbage must be taken to the waste collection point in the center of Kolin village (note: the waste collection point/sorting point has been moved from the backyard of the store a short distance to the road in the center of Kolin village). Please note that smoking is not allowed in the cottage. You can smoke outside in the yard, but please don't throw cigarette butts on the ground. Pets are warmly welcome! In the yard there is a dog waste bin and equipment (a small rake and a shovel next to the trash) for cleaning pet waste from the yard of the cottage to the dog waste bin. There are blankets and pillows in the cottage. Please bring your own bed linen (duvet cover, pillowcase, sheet) and towels. You can find logs for heating and sauna in the woodshed. In the sauna, shampoo, conditioner and tarry sauna scent. The wilderness cabin's stove is easy to use. The stove does not have a pull-out sheet. Put the logs in the stove and light it. The stove's firebox doors have air vents. When pulled to the right, the openings are open and when pulled to the left, the openings are closed. Please note that in winter, in severe frosts, you may have to add wood to the stove 1-2 times a night to keep the cabin warm. Otherwise, the morning night may be cold. The stove is quite efficient. When properly heated, it keeps the cabin very warm. Please let us know if you need help with heating. We are happy to help. The sauna stove is heated with wood. The sauna also does not have pull-out benches. The hot water tanks are above and to the side of the stove. Fill the tanks with well water and as the stove heats up, the water in the tanks also heats up. The loft has an emergency exit through the skylight. There is a foam extinguisher in the outer vestibule. The first aid kit is in the kitchen corner cabinet. The kitchen has dishes and all the cutlery.
