The Pavilion

The Pavilion is a unique little place built for the tropics. You have your own entrance and space and share our beautiful tropical garden, outdoor spaces and pool. Our place is perfect for dog lovers and those looking for a home away from home in a comfortable, friendly environment. The space The Pavilion is self contained, with a bedroom/lounge, very well equipped kitchenette/mini office and spacious bathroom. It has it's own entrance separated by a breeze way from our 3 bedroom family home. We built the Pavilion ourselves, and it is designed to make the most of the tropical weather and the outdoor Darwin life. Lots of louvres to catch the breeze (plus an air-conditioner for the warmer months of course). We have two very friendly kelpie x collies so dog lovers only please. We are a busy family of four so always lots happening at our place. We are very respectful of people's space and privacy but love getting to know our guests and a bit about them. Our place is really well suited to visiting relatives, people in Darwin for work and for tourists who want some local knowledge, which we are very happy to share. We are located 15-20 minute drive to the city centre, a short walk to the main Darwin shopping mall (Casuarina) and close to public transport and supermarket Guest access Guests are very welcome to share the outdoor areas - verandah, garden, BBQ pool. We have a firepit area which you are welcome to use in the dry season, not much need of a fire the rest of the year! It is a lovely place to sit in the morning and evening, even without a fire, and pretend you're in the bush. There is no laundry in the unit but you are welcome to use ours or there is a launderette at the end of the road if you'd prefer. You are also welcome to use the oven in our kitchen and chest freezer if you have bigger items that won't fit in the little freezer in the Pavilion. Other things to note We built and decorated the Pavilion to our own taste and style and we love it - and love sharing it. We had an amazing experience as AirBnB hosts for the Pavilion in the years we hosting before we had a couple of years interstate..and then ha a break during COVID. The space is advertised for 2 guests but we can accommodate extra younger kids, we have a trundle bed we can set up in the Pavilion and babies/little ones welcome if you have your own porta-cot. The property is in a quiet street but expect the normal suburban neighbourhood noises (dogs, lawnmowing and leaf blowers on the weekend). Please note there is only on street parking if you have a car. We have an amazing tropical garden, the green tree frogs love it as much as we do, expect to hear the frog chorus in the wet season.
