Our 1-bedroom apartment is located in a friendly residential neighborhood in the middle of the Island and not far from most attractions. It sits on a hill overlooking the beautiful North Shore Ocean with unobstructed views. You'll enjoy waking up to breath-taking ocean views as well as dining at night while watching the sunsets. Our Bermuda cottage is centrally located in the Parish of Devonshire. We are located in a friendly residential neighborhood high on a hill enjoying beautiful unobstructed ocean views. The apartment below our cottage comfortably accommodates 2 people. (not suitable for infants/children). The apartment is fully equipped with a small but modern kitchen with a stainless steel stove/oven, stainless steel refrigerator, stainless steel microwave, dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots & pans, Keurig coffee maker and toaster. A bedroom with a comfortable queen bed, TV, iron & ironing board and hangers. Living/dining room area with TV. One beautiful bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a hairdryer. Linen room stocked with bath towels, beach towel sand beach mats. For entertainment the apartment is outfitted with internet TV, a firestick (for your Netflix) account and wireless internet. My internet service is basically for travelers on vacation surfing the web. If you require high speed internet for work then there are businesses in Hamilton that rent small spaces to business travelers to work in for a fee. Ask Host about these businesses on arrival if this service is for you. This is a self-catered unit that is supplied with items to get you started. Should you require additional supplies then there are grocery stores nearby to meet your needs. NOTE:- This is a non-smoking property, indoors or outdoors. Guests will have access to an outdoor patio to sit and watch the sunsets or just relax. As I live in the main house (upstairs) I am on hand should guests have any questions. In saying this, I give guests their space to explore Bermuda independently. I want guests to make themselves at home, as if it were their own and enjoy their visit most importantly. It is peaceful, quiet and sits high on a hill with amazing views of the ocean. It also is situated on one of Bermuda's Historical Railway Trails which is now a walkable trail. Shelly Bay Beach is the nearest beach to the apartment and is a 10 minute drive away. The location lends itself as easy to commute to the city center, plus we sit on 3 bus lines. We are also very close to a popular 9-hole golf course called Ocean View Golf Course. We are a 5 minute walk from the neighborhood's convenience store and a 5 minute drive away from the nearest grocery store. The bus stop is a 10- min walk from the property. There are 3 bus routes to choose from. The area is quite hilly in all directions so please make sure to pack your walking shoes! It is advisable to rent a scooter or an electric vehicle if public transportation (bus) is not for you and of course there are taxis. Frequently asked questions:- 1. Is there a scooter rental company within walking distance from the cottage? No. (15 mins. away) Elbow Beach Cycles and Oleander Cycles. 2. Is there any issue getting the scooter up the hill to the cottage? No. 3. Transportation getting around? Taxi, Bus or Scooters. 4. Are there rental cars in Bermuda? Yes. Bermuda does have mini electric vehicle rentals. 5. Transportation from the airport? Taxi. 6. How much will a taxi cost to get to your home from the airport? Taxi will cost approx. $30-$35 from the airport to my home. Please make sure to have cash because most taxis do not have credit card machines. 7. If getting around by bus, how do we pay? You’ll need exact change (coins) for the bus ride or you can purchase day passes from hotels or post offices. I would suggest Day Passes: 2-Day $31.50, 3-Day $44.00, 4-Day $48.50, 7-Day $62, etc. You’ll find this info is in the ‘House Manual’ in the apartment. With these passes you can get on and off the buses and Ferries all day without paying anything extra. 8. Is there a taxi service that we can use to get around and to your home from the airport? There are taxis at the airport and a service that you can use during your stay is listed in the ‘House Manual’ that you’ll find in the apartment. 9. Are there restaurants within walking distance to the apartment? No, but there are a couple 5-10 minutes away. 10. Is there a grocery store within walking distance where we can get a few groceries for our time there? Preferably fruits, eggs, bread, cheese, mostly breakfast foods. Yes. 11. In the kitchen, is there use of coffee maker, tea kettle, pans to cook up breakfast, toaster? Yes. 12. Do you have wireless internet available at your home? Yes, this info can be found in the ‘House Manual’ in the apartment. 13. Do most restaurants and taxis take US dollars? Yes. 14. Visitors can now complete an immigration arrival card online before they fly, saving time and making their experience through the airport more frictionless. Currently visitors who fill out the Visitor Arrival Card online at BermudaArrivalCard dot com must print it and bring the document with them when they travel. In the next phase, the process will be paperless, allowing travelers to show their completed form on a smartphone.
