Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval Farm Gîte

Welcome to the gates of the picturesque Cirque du Fer-à-Cheval. Come and relax in this secluded place, in a quiet little hamlet, nestled between mountains, waterfalls, forests and mountain pastures. Enjoy an unusual experience in a rustic and cozy accommodation with all the comforts of modern life. You can warm up by an authentic wood-burning stove and fall asleep to the crackling sound of the fire. The space This is an old farmhouse completely renovated by its owners using noble and local materials: old wood, original stones, travertine tiles, lime... On the ground floor is the main room arranged in a large "loft" that is spacious and bright thanks to its many windows, glass door and light-colored travertine stone tiles. In the dining area there is a magnificent wood-burning stove that will warm your winter evenings while letting your favorite dishes simmer over a wood fire. In the fully equipped kitchen, you will find all the utensils necessary for your culinary preparations. A large cooking piano will allow you to take over from the stove to prepare your meals requiring more space! The living room will surprise you with its warm lights integrated into the wood-stone alloy. And above all, the floor lighting emanating from a large fixed glass tile. This is integrated into the parquet, just above an original cellar, accessible by a small staircase hidden under a marine pulley hatch! The bedroom part of this loft has a beautiful wooden double bed. Wedged between old stones and original wood, it will invite you to sink into a calm and rejuvenating sleep by the fire. A simple and functional bathroom will offer you the comfort of a good shower after your mountain adventures. From the living room, you will access the top bedroom via a small wooden staircase, as if you were climbing into a cabin! Up there, you will feel like in a mountain refuge: small cocooning room all in wood, bunk beds and double bed, with cozy duvets... All beds are equipped! Just let yourself slip into the arms of Morpheus. From the entrance area, you can access the toilet. Right next to it, a small door will give you access to a typical world of authentic Haute-Savoie farms: the old stable! Refreshed and renovated, it still retains its soul with its original cobblestones. This large space allows you to store the wood you will need to fuel the stoves in the living room. You can take advantage of this space to store your ski accessories, bicycles, etc. A laundry room adjoining the stable will offer you the possibility to use the washing machine and to hang out your machines in a space dedicated to this purpose. Outside, a small sheltered terrace will allow you to enjoy the fresh mountain air. As soon as the snow melts, the garden will have no limit! You can access nearby nature (meadow, forests, gardens, rivers) in just a few steps! You will never really be alone there: wild animals are omnipresent in this landscape! Guest access All parts of the farm described above are accessible. Only the "barn" (upper part) of the farm remains closed to the public.
