Description

Welcome to my whimsical, art-filled home. Here is your chance for a peek in to an artist’s abode. The house is divided in 2 sections; you will be staying in the private, upper part of the house, with an open concept sitting room, dining room, full sized kitchen - plus master bedroom and bath. The upper level has gorgeous views of Puget Sound. The 1st floor space is a separate, private apartment. Access 2 ferries, Seattle and Kingston, and on the Olympic Peninsula for adventuring! The space The main living area is the whole second floor which includes an open concept kitchen, living and dining areas, private full bathroom, and comfortable master bedroom. The second floor is only accessible by stairs. If you are an early riser, you will find a spectacular sunrise to greet you every morning, and can take advantage of the water view from the walls of windows, or the upper deck. Located on a quiet road in a small neighborhood that follows the shoreline of the Central Basin in Puget Sound, this home is the perfect place to relax and unwind after day trips spent adventuring. The house is located across the street from waterfront homes; almost directly across from the house is a public access road end where you can reach the shoreline. (Warning: it’s a short, steep incline to the waterfront with a nylon rope handrail! 4 short blocks away is an easy cement boat ramp to use to get to the beachfront.) At low tide you can walk the shoreline to the local restaurant. Within 20 minutes easy driving you can find small towns, Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo, Kingston, and Port Gamble, which abound with art galleries, specialty shops, various restaurants and drinking establishments. (Butcher & Baker, in Port Gamble, is a favorite of mine for baked goods, coffee, and lunch!) All also offer parks, beaches, and rental centers for kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and more. Closer to home (5 minutes) is the Clearwater Casino resort which offers gaming, entertainment, restaurants and the Angeline Spa for your pleasure. White Horse Golf Course is an easy 8.3 mile country drive away. Take a 35 minute ferry ride from Bainbridge Island and you are in downtown Seattle. No need to take a car; right off the ferry you can walk the waterfront, take in Pike's Place Market, Pioneer Square, or visit the Seattle Art Museum. Longer walks take you to Century Field where the Seahawks take the football field, or T-Mobile Park for a Mariner's baseball game. Public transportation gives easy access to the Space Needle, International District, and areas farther away. Longer day trips can include a visit to the Victorian city of Port Townsend for whale watching and wandering, and exploring the Olympic Peninsula and all it has to offer. Taking the Kingston ferry as a walk-on, you can stroll the streets of Edmond, which has wonderful stores, restaurants, and beachfront. Guest access The private, main door entrance to the house leads to the areas that are solely for your use. A generous staircase leads to the 2nd floor main room area. Open-concept kitchen, living and dining area are dominated by the large windows facing the water view; a cozy upper deck has 2 comfy chairs for lounging. The house is light-filled, bright, and visually interesting with it's eclectic decor and unique art. The master bedroom is furnished with a Tuft&Needle queen sized mattress, mattress topper, luxurious bed linens, luggage valet, clothes hangers, robes, and room darkening shades. Anything found in the kitchen is for your use, but please be considerate, and don’t take the tea, coffee, and condiments with you when you leave:-) Two storage areas and the master bedroom closet have locked doors for the owner's personal use. Host's 1st floor apartment and studio has a separate entrance and direct access to the backyard garden area, which is for host’s personal use. Other things to note When I decided to become an AirBnB host, I wanted to have my guests experience the many things that I found significant in a good stay: sparkling clean environment, inviting interiors, pleasing views, high quality linens, ample, thirsty bath towels, robes, and supplies. I hope I have accomplished that task and you enjoy the comforts of my home! Please keep in mind that you are staying in a home, not a hotel or rental, and be as considerate as you wish a guest would be in your own home. I only offer my house as an Airbnb for the summer season. I am the loving companion to a wonderful, sweet dog Poppy. It has been my pride to have a scrupulously clean home, but guests with dog allergies should be aware. I am odor sensitive and steam clean the carpets frequently. Poppy is generally quiet, but will give short notice when guests arrive. She will not be in the guest areas at all.
